MLK Day of Service
Fun opportunities to make your day off count in Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandria
Volunteer Fairfax

RSVP volunteers will be assisting Volunteer Fairfax for its annual Give Together event. Volunteers will fill a variety of critical roles ranging from helping with event set up and take down to registering and greeting event participants . Click here to sign up!

Volunteer Arlington

We are proud to partner with Volunteer Arlington for their MLK Day of Service. This day will help strengthen and empower the community through hands-on service projects and on-site training opportunities for all ages. For more information and to sign up,  click here!

Volunteer Alexandria

Volunteer Alexandria in partnership with the Northern Virginia Community College is implementing a day of service. Projects will include assembling emergency preparedness starter kits, sorting donated food and creating no-sew blankets. There are opportunities for volunteers of all ages! Click here to register.

University Giant in Fairfax to share expertise on healthy diet
As a benefit of being an RSVP volunteer, you are invited to attend a free training on nutrition! Come j oin Giant in-store nutritionist, Marissa, as she takes you through the aisles explaining how to build a balanced plate. T his event is also open to those interested in RSVP, please bring a 55+ friend and be entered into a special drawing for an RSVP prize!

Snow Buddies
Help seniors in Alexandria get through the next big snow
The Snow Buddies Program is a volunteer program hosted and implemented by Volunteer Alexandria with the support of the City of Alexandria's Office of Aging and Senior Services of Alexandria. It is aimed at providing snow removal to low-income Alexandria's residents who are physically unable to do so themselves, cannot afford to pay for this help, and/or do not have immediate neighbors, family or friends to assist them. Northern Virginia Senior Olympics

The NVSO, held each September since 1982, includes participants and volunteers from Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun and Fauquier counties and from the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church. The 2018 games attracted nearly 900 competitors.

Volunteers are sought to support the 2019 NVSO games in a variety of critical as well as creative roles ranging from running the nonprofit’s website to designing its tee shirts and posters. For a complete list of NVSO board volunteer needs, please visit  NVSO volunteer opportunities .

Timesheet Submissions
Please remember to submit your December timesheets!  Tracking volunteer hours is essential to our program; it is the number one way we report our volunteers are active and keeps the program up and running. If you have any questions, please contact RSVP Volunteer Specialist, Carly Hubicki, at  rsvp@volunteerfairfax.org  or 703-403-5360.
