Thank you to all our NVSO volunteers!
We would like to thank all of the wonderful volunteers who helped make the 2018 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics a success! We want to give a special shout out to the 19 volunteer photographers from the George Mason OLLI program that have been at all of the games capturing the excitement! October Group Service Project
For our October group service project, we will be assisting with one of the VolunteerFest projects at United Community Ministries. We will be helping with their monthly produce distribution. Volunteer tasks include stocking, organizing, and distributing fruit and vegetables. RSVP helped with this project last year and it was a fun and rewarding project! We hope to see you there! RSVP Fall Meet & Greet
Join RSVP for our Fall Meet & Greet! There will be wagon rides, pumpkin carving, and fall treats to enjoy! We will also be assembling weekend meal packs for students that have limited food over the weekends. Current and prospective volunteers are invited to attend! Click here to sign up!

Crescent Fall Festival with Cornerstones
Cornerstones is in need of volunteers for the Crescent Fall Festival at the Crescent Apartments, near Lake Anne. Help is needed with set up, break down, grilling and serving food, and running games for the residents and their children. The event will be held in a central courtyard of the complex. Contact Susan Alger at susan.alger@cornerstonesva.org  to sign up.

Vo lunteers are the Heart of Alexandria
Come join Volunteer Alexandria celebrate volunteers nominated by the community for their outstanding service. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup, registration, silent auction, and cleanup. Click here for more details and to get signed up.

Multicultural Health Fair
Volunteers are needed at the annual Multicultural Health Fair. During the health fair, low-income families and individuals will have the chance to learn more about services they can receive, participate in on-site health screenings and tests and receive vaccinations. Volunteers Needed for the 2019 Tax Season
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is starting their volunteer recruitment for the 2019 tax season. VITA offers free income tax preparation and filing services to families and individuals who earned less than $54,000 in 2018.They are recruiting for front desk greeters (no tax training required) and volunteer tax preparers for basic returns. Junior Achievement Finance Park
School is back in session in Northern Virginia and our friends at Junior Achievement Finance Park need more volunteers for a few dates in September and October. Click here to get all the details!
Spanish Translators Needed

RSVP Engagement Leaders
RSVP is recruiting additional Engagement Leaders! RSVP engagement leaders fill many roles from managing volunteers at larger events to staffing outreach tables at fairs and festivals.   Click here to learn more!
APAH Survey Volunteers

United Community Ministries

RSVP Northern Virginia is again teaming up with United Community Ministries of Alexandria on Make a Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018.
 
On the last Saturday of every month, the Capital Area Food Bank arrives at UCM with a big truck of fresh local produce which is distributed in its back parking lot, according to Diane Hill, a development and communications officer with UCM.  To continue reading, click here to go to our blog!

Timesheet Submissions
