OUR EVENING'S WINES HOSTED BY

MEET GUIDO ORZALESI

Guido Orzalesi holds a doctorate in Law from the University of Florence. After graduating, he spent several years working in the real estate sector, gaining valuable experience in property management and development. In 1999, he became one of the founding partners—and later President—of One Step Closer, a firm that continues to operate successfully in two distinct areas: high-end real estate brokerage and the design of exclusive, tailor-made cultural experiences and special events for discerning international travelers.

In 2003, Claudio Basla—then General Manager and winemaker at Altesino—invited Guido to join the winery. The offer was difficult to resist: not only did Guido have a lifelong passion for food, wine, and the countryside, but the opportunity to learn directly from a professional of Claudio’s calibre represented an exceptional chance for growth. Guido joined as Assistant Director and Director of Sales & Marketing, also supporting Claudio in the overall management and production activities of the estate.

In 2016, Giovanni Incisa della Rocchetta appointed Guido as CEO of Tenuta di Salviano and Titignano in Orvieto, entrusting him with the restructuring and strategic relaunch of the historic family property. Under Guido’s leadership, the estates entered a new phase of operational and commercial revitalisation.

In 2019, Swiss entrepreneur Rolf Sonderegger invited Guido to take on the role of General Manager of Castello La Leccia, a renowned estate located in the heart of Chianti Classico, in Castellina in Chianti. For Guido—deeply passionate about Sangiovese and strongly attached to Tuscany, the homeland of this grape—the opportunity was both professionally and personally compelling.

Since then, he has successfully overseen both core dimensions of the property:

• Wine production, leading the estate’s growth in quality, recognition, and international distribution;

• Hospitality, managing a boutique 17-room hotel and on-site restaurant, and guiding the estate toward an increasingly integrated and experience-driven model.
