OUR EVENING'S WINE HOSTS

Nestled between the magnificent Simonsberg Mountains and Klapsmut Hill, Le Bonheur is the gateway to South Africa's most renowned wine producing region - Stellenbosch. With a history dating back to the 1700's Le Bonheur Wine Estate epitomises the rich heritage of Stellenbosch.

Historically "Le Bonheur" was a resting place for travelers and traders - offering lush green surroundings and natural spring waters. The orgininal owners of this scenic farm, the French

Huguenot De Villiers family fittingly named it "Le Bonheur", meaning happiness. Today the Estate

retains its sense of place, timeless setting and rich heritage.

With altitudes of up to 450m, aspects and slopes against the Klapsmut Hill and four main soil types, Le Bonheur truly boasts a diverse selection of excellent wines. The Estate has some of the oldest Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon plantings in Stellebosch, which contributes to the depth and compexity of these wines. All grapes are hand harvested and traditional wine methods are applied, with a strong French influence. The winery is specifically renowned for its elegant, full

bodied and classically styled wines.

Le Bonheur winemaker, William Wilkenson, has gained a reputation asone of South Africa's most creative and awarded winemakers. With a forever inquisitive approach to viticulture, William individually vinifies different batches, which results in site-specific building blocks, to create the authentic and classic wines. William is a former South African bodyboarder, and, like the estate, he still has an untamed, wild side.

Valle de Uco is currently considered as one of the areas with the highest potential for the develoment of top-quality wines in Argentina. Many foreign and national capitals have invested in this region in the last years due to the special condition it offers for grape-growing. The natural characteristics of the place plus the arrival of new capitals have contributed to making Valle de Uco one of the world top grape-growings regions.

This is one of the purest and healthies environments in the world: it is the place where the rock yields to the effort of the vine, offers itself as fruit, and flows as wine.

Faithful to the idea that fruit is the soul of wine, they produce wine in which the flavor of grape stands out. They take care of aromas from the vine by protecting leaves and clusters from direct exposure to the sun and control wild vegetation in the furrows, preventing irradiation from the soil to the vines and preserving the soil from erosion.

Intervention in the growth and maturation processes is kept at a minimun, and each variety receives a different tratment, respecful of its essence. In order to capture the authentic aromas of our grapes, the harvest is carried out at the rigth point of ripeness. In this way they privilege honesty in winemaking since they do not use any type of chemicals.

In addition they contribute to achieving pure aromas in their wine by cleaning the fruit and reducing the numbers of microorganisms that may produce off-aromas.
