Don Kirby's Memorial Service

A celebration of Don Kirby’s life will be held at Kingswood on Monday, September 4th (Labor Day) at 11:00 am at Stone Ministry. Please email Holly Moore at hollynelmesmoore@gmail.com if you plan on coming, so we can have an idea of the number of people attending and plan accordingly for seating, parking, and other logistical matters.

A gathering will be held at the barn after the service to give the opportunity for conversation and stories. Light refreshments will be provided, but this will not be a full lunch, so you may want to plan to bring your own lunch or have lunch on your way home. We look forward to being together to remember and honor Don’s life.

Senior Week

Do you have free time September 4-7? Join us at Kingswood for Senior Week. This is a time when folks of all ages gather to begin the process of putting the camp to bed for the winter. This is not the heavy lifting work of Take Down Weekend. We scrub pots, stoves, and coolers, sterilize dishes and silverware, take down site curtains, and pack everything up for use next summer. We have great camaraderie, delicious food, and make a difference at Kingswood while meeting new friends.

Take Down Weekend

There is still time to register for Take Down Weekend, September 8 - 10, 2023

This is a weekend of work, community and time in nature. All meals are provided, Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch. We can accommodate most dietary needs and always include gluten free and vegetarian options. Accommodations are provided at campsites and in the farmhouse.

There is work for everyone, all ages and all skill levels!

Kingswood veterans and folks new to Kingswood are all welcome! Come for the weekend or come for just a day.

Quinipet Camp & Retreat Center is our sister camp located on Shelter Island. Quinipet offers day and overnight summer camp for children ages 5-16 and retreat space for groups. Quinipet also offers pastoral retreats at no charge to active NYAC ministers.
