Join us for our annual Economic Development Summit! This year, we will take a deeper dive into the Midway community. Two years after civil unrest and the beginning of the pandemic, what are the most important issues facing our neighborhood? This event will feature many community stakeholders and leaders as we conduct a SWOT analysis on the Midway in breakout sessions. Join us as we work on this important issue- the future of the Midway.
 
Prior to our conversation, we will hear from Minnesota DEED Commissioner Steve Grove; Concordia University’s Dr. Bruce Corrie; and the Neighborhood Development Center’s Mike Temali.

Public Blood Drives June- Twins Tickets Giveaway

Local nonprofit Memorial Blood Centers (MBC) is calling all eligible blood and platelet donors to step up and help save lives.  
  
The need for blood is constant, but the supply isn’t. Founded by the community, for the community, donors with Memorial Blood Centers help supply nearly 40 local hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulance bases. Help hospital patients in need by scheduling an appointment online at mbc.org/donate or by calling 1.888.GIVE.BLD (888.448.3253). 
  
  
Blood donation is safe and essential, and MBC has a COVID-19 self-screening policy in addition to general eligibility guidelines. In general, you may be eligible to donate if you are: 
• In good health 
• 17 years or older— or 16 with written parental consent (PDF available on mbc.org) 
• At least 110 pounds 
• Free of antibiotics for 24 hours, unless taken for preventative reasons 
• Symptom-free for at least 72 hours following a cold or flu

Help Spread the Word! Comcast RISE is Providing Another $1M to Small Businesses in the Twin Cities!

For the second time in less than a year, Comcast RISE will award another $1 million in grants – $10,000 each – to 100 Twin Cities small businesses owned by people of color or women to help grow their businesses, create jobs, and play a vital role in supporting our communities. We invite you to spread the Comcast RISE grant announcement to the small business you frequent and share the link on your social media platforms or newsletters to ensure as many small business owners as possible are aware of this great opportunity. The window to apply for the Comcast RISE Investment Fund is June 1 – 14, 2022. Recipients will be announced in late July. To qualify, grant applicants must have been in business for three or more years, employ a staff of between 1-25 employees, and operate in the seven-county Twin Cities metro.
