May Member Luncheon:

Business Success Story - Tameka Jones, Lip Esteem

Lip Esteem LLC is a quality plant based, gluten and cruelty free lipstick and lip care cosmetic line created right in the midst of Covid 19. Founder and CEO, Tameka Jones also holds her BA in Youth Development and facilitates self esteem groups, empowers and mentors adults and young ladies in inner beauty vs. outer beauty. As a black owned and woman owned local business, she aims to highlight and show how lipstick can not only brighten your smile, but how it can also be empowering. A born-and-raised Rondo girl she is pleased to keep her roots in the Midway.

About Tameka Jones

After decades as a makeup artist, Tameka Jones used her downtime during the pandemic to rethink her path. The result? A line of her own, Lip Esteem, a Black woman–owned beauty start-up

“My friends represent all shades of beauty,” says Jones, whose company won the 2022 New Kid on the Block Award from the City of St. Paul. “It’s important to me that everyone can wear my hues.”

As a born-and-raised Rondo girl, it was essential for Jones to come back and open her store in the community she holds close to her heart. Lip Esteem is located at 876 Selby Avenue.

Become an Irresistible Employer by Rehumanizing Your Workplace

The past three years have brought a constant stream of crises that has contributed to an environment where people are stressed, struggling and have a significantly reduced capacity to handle change and disruption. Yet our world and rate of change is not slowing down anytime soon. People are reevaluating what matters to them when it comes to work; and top of the list is having a workplace culture that honors and treats them as human beings, not just a cog in the machine. The good news is that there are things you can do today to future-proof and rehumanize your workplace so you become an irresistible employer.

About Rosie:

Rosie serves as CEO and co-founder of Salveo Partners, LLC, a consulting and professional development firm focused on equipping organizations to find success while putting people back at the forefront of their business.
