Message from the Executive Director - Dr. Deb Wojcik

Everything is connected. The applications of this adage are many, and when it comes to our clean energy transition, connections are plentiful and important.

I recently had the honor of graduating with the 30th class of Leadership North Carolina (LNC). This was a transformative experience as someone who has made North Carolina my home and the focus of my work. The experience bridged and connected many key issues impacting the people, economy, and environment of North Carolina.

What became clear is that the deployment of clean technologies both impacts and is impacted by all the key issue areas we addressed—government, education, health and human services, economic development, and environment. And importantly, there are incredible leaders from all over the state working to make lasting change to ensure a bright future for North Carolina.

Those of us who work in cleantech know this well—we are fortunate to be part of an ecosystem who do and create great things through our collaborative efforts. Please reach out to us at RTCC to discuss how we might work together to continue this good work—by partnering on events, working to secure funding, and supporting each other’s efforts. We look forward to creating benefits together!

2023 Spring VIP Reception

Thank you to our board, leadership members, and partners who came along to our VIP reception this month.

We enjoyed a tour of Mystic Farm and Distillery, the largest solar-powered bourbon distillery in the world, and networking with cleantech leaders from around the Triangle Region and beyond.

We especially want to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event, including our speakers. Thank you for speaking about the importance of industry, academia, and government to come together and collaborate in the advancement of cleantech (aka the "triple helix"):

Sertoma Arts Center - Raleigh, N.C.

We are experiencing historic federal investment in the clean energy transition. With legislation including the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), cleantech companies have unprecedented opportunities to access funding for growth and innovation, and together, we can maximize North Carolina's share of federal funding and enhance our state's leadership in the cleantech economy.

Join the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster as we discuss these exciting cleantech funding opportunities. This event will provide insights about available funding from experts working at the federal and state levels, as well as industry experts about how they are preparing and working to leverage available funding.
