A Message from Rabbi

Dear RTFH Family,

The beauty of Mitzvah Day is seeing the whole community gathered together in good. From our Pre-K to teenagers to senior citizens, everyone comes to make a difference. Whether it is donating blood, stuffing a teddy bear, making a birthday in a box, sorting books and toys, or singing at a nursing home, we all can make the world better.

Cantor Emily sang with us at the opening of Religious School and at the conclusion of Mitzvah Day, the words of Pirke Avot 2:16: It is not your duty to complete the work, but neither can you reject doing something. Mitzvah Day is every day. Do something today to make a positive change in the world around us.

Harper Waskow is celebrating her Bat Mitzvah!

Harper's Mitzvah Project

For my Bat Mitzvah project I am supporting an organization called Change Summer. I chose to support Change Summer because I want other kids to have the same opportunity to go to camp, learn new things, and make lifelong friends like I did. Change Summer sends underprivileged kids overnight camp for two weeks. To support Change Summer, I created a fundraiser and held two bake sales to raise money. The staff at Change Summer also helped me find other ways I could support the campers. I was told that many campers do receive mail while at camp. so I organized with some friends to write letters. These letters will be sent to campers during the course of the summer so they receive mail while at camp. Finally, in the late spring, I am volunteering at an in person Change Summer fundraising event.
