Dear RTFH Family,

A privilege for our congregation is having an Israeli Shlicha (emissary) not only serving the Queens community, but also working at RTFH. Eden Ezra has already been part of RTFH services and programs, and teaches our 5th and 6th grades in Hebrew. Here is more about Eden as we joyously welcome her to Queens and RTFH:

Eden Ruby Ezra joins as a new Community Shlicha from Israel. For the past several years, Eden has worked in the Municipality of Or Yehuda, most recently serving as the Director of the Youth and Young Adults Department. In this role, she led the city’s informal education system, worked closely with youth movements, supervised youth leadership programs, managed community partnerships, and oversaw a wide network of youth coordinators, volunteers, and organizations. She also has extensive experience

in developing leadership, preparing teens for meaningful service in the IDF, and creating impactful community initiatives.

Eden’s professional background also includes leadership in the Hebrew Scouts Youth Movement, where she built educational programs that emphasized leadership, social involvement, and community engagement. In addition, she spent several summers in the U.S. at NJY Camps, advancing from counselor to assistant division head, supporting hundreds of campers and staff.

In Queens, Eden looks forward to building strong connections with the community and creating meaningful programs that bridge Israeli and American Jewish life. She is passionate about education, community, and people, and is excited to bring her experience, warmth, and creativity to Commonpoint and the wider Queens community.

We are excited to have Eden teaching at RTFH and leading our Queens community!

We will be having a scavenger hunt at the Queens Zoo. It is going to be a fun time for connection, exploration, and some friendly competition.

Last summer, the compelling short film Say As I Say, which directly tackles the issue of

Antisemitism and synagogues, used our Temple as a filming location and included

several of our own members as extras.

We invite you to a special screening of this acclaimed short. Following the film, join

Director Daniel Solé and producers Adam Chitayat and Marlena Skrobe for an

essential conversation. The discussion will cover the film's impact, its critical reception,

and practical ways to engage in responding to antisemitism in our community.
