Dear RTFH Family,
In a world of ever-increasing complexity and challenge, we recognize that there is much to be done to make a better tomorrow. Our Confirmation Class took up the mantle of bringing change with their visit to Washington, DC on the Religious Action Center (RAC) L’Taken Trip.
Six of our tenth graders learned about current issues and Jewish principles in a jam-packed conference this past weekend. They then shared their values in powerful lobbying speeches at the office of Congresswoman Grace Meng.
They demonstrated that our future must be created with our own hands and dedication. We each have the imperative to bring hope and possibility ourselves. It was a gift to see them so intelligently, passionately, and meaningfully speak their truth to power.
Our hopes are in the generations to come.

Torah Writing Opening Ceremony
Sunday, February 9 from 11:30am-12:00pm
We officially begin writing letters in our new Sefer Torah at an opening ceremony in the Sanctuary. Join our religious school and whole community for a special beginning as our Religious School Teachers and Madrichim write a letter in the opening words of the Torah. Throughout that day and Monday, dozens of Temple families will then write their letters in the Torah.

Tu BiShvat for All
Saturday, February 8 at 11:00am
Join us as we celebrate Tu BiShvat together! We welcome all ages to join us with the seder that celebrates the New Year for the Trees. We will express gratitude for trees and their fruits, for nature and its fragility, and of course, our connection to the land of Israel. Together, we’ll drink our four cups of wine or juice and eat different kinds of fruits, which symbolize the variety of the natural world that it is our duty to preserve.
The seder will be followed by a potluck lunch and a song session. Join us for the seder, and then stay for lunch! You can register here. If you are staying for lunch, please indicate what you will be bringing.
For those of you who have enjoyed meditation during the Tu BiShvat seder, our Weekly Friday Meditation Sit will be devoted to Tu BiShvat. This will take place at 1:30 PM on Friday, February 7th. Many of their 3K-5th graders arrive to school in short-sleeve shirts or shorts.
You can purchase warm clothes from this Target Wish List and have them shipped directly to the school.
NEW! You can bring gently-used or new pants, long-sleeve shirts, and sweaters ONLY (Sizes 3T - XL/Youth 18), clean and folded, to Temple's Upper Lobby by Sunday, Feb 9.
