Dear Temple Family,

Having just returned from an amazing time on safari in Southern Africa, we watched as animals spend their days searching for food – and avoiding becoming someone’s else’s meal.

We often take food for granted, with our biggest struggle being, “Where should we eat?” But so many right here in our community wonder about just their next meal. We are a proud annual sponsor of the Forest Hills Food Drive. While you can bring food to Temple anytime and we’ll get it to appropriate food banks, at the start of this new year, please consider bringing non-perishable foods when you come to Temple – whether for services, religious school, a meeting, or any reason. What a great lesson to teach your family about what we can each do to help those around us.

More details, including other drop-off sites, are listed in the eblast. Caring for our neighbors in need is a core value of Judaism (including next week’s Torah portion). Make a difference with your Temple family for all our neighbors.

L’shalom,

Rabbi Mark
