Hello Friends,

Happy New Year! RTMC is beginning the year off strong as we focus on carrying out our mission of repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives.

As we step in the promising days of January, the dawn of this new year has brought a new sense of optimism and excitement throughout the organization. We can't wait to witness the achievements and milestones that await us, as well as all of the lives we will impact. With our dedicated and enthusiastic Board of Directors and staff team leading the way, our team has provided critical home repairs and accessibility modifications to 92 vulnerable families since our fiscal year started on July 1, 2023. We are on track to reach our goal to serve 180 families by June 30th, 2024.

Please see below as we share stories of repairs or modifications we've made, changes in the organization, and upcoming dates and events!

For the many of you who made an end of year donation, please know how incredibly grateful we are! For those who want to support our mission in the new year, you can learn more about how to do that here. As always, we are grateful for our community of supporters who make our mission come to life.

With gratitude,

Maury Peterson

Executive Director

Beneficial Before and After

Here at RTMC we are breaking barriers and building access! It's not just a physical structure; it's a symbol of inclusivity, independence, and a community coming together to make a real difference.

In this spotlight we are delighted to share the work done for homeowner Mr. P. and his son, who have been proud residents of their home since 1985. Faced with the challenges of age and physical disability, they refused to let anything hinder the enjoyment of their longtime home. With the assistance of RTMC, they are now equipped with modifications tailored to their needs so that they may now navigate their way in and out of their property with ease. We want to stress the importance of the transformative impact that modifications like this can have on an individual's life, enabling homeowners like Mr. P. to successfully age in place with dignity and comfort.

Save the Date: She Builds with ABC of Metro Washington Coming in May

RTMC is getting started on planning many events for the 2024 year including our May 2024 She Builds in partnership with the Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington. Each year we hold two She Builds events with women, for women, and by women and this is always such an amazing group to work with and we can’t wait for yet another successful project later this spring! We welcome ABC Metro Washington members to sponsor women volunteers who will join us in repairing a woman-centered facility. More details to come so please be on the lookout for more information on our website.

Make your Impact Today

We have received an increased number of calls from vulnerable homeowners who do not have working heating systems. Your donation this winter season can help restore safety and comfort to a community member in need. Every donation helps us meet the rising cost of material and labor to make the repairs that keep homeowners safe and healthy in their homes. Thank you for considering a gift to RTMC. Your support at any level truly makes a difference.
