In partnership with Women Building Washington Group of ABC Metro Washington Chapter, Rebuilding Together Montgomery County hosted our annual She Builds event on March 8, 2019, which was a huge success! She Builds took place on International Women's Day and was strategically planned around 2019 Women in Construction Week.
We had 40 volunteers working on one project site and completing tasks such as debris clean-up, cleaning & painting walls, replacing a toilet, faucets & shower heads, and completing plumbing work.
Our volunteers raised over $20,000 through a peer to peer campaign with the support of nearly 200 family, friends, colleagues, and businesses. Funds raised for She Builds not only supported the project itself but will go towards supporting safe and healthy home repairs in many other households throughout Montgomery County.
