Warm greetings from Chicago.
As we enjoy the sunny days and time with our families, trips and vacations, weddings and other events, I want to remind you that July is General Assembly month. After it was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, this year our international Church of God family is converging in San Antonio, TX during the week of July 25-29 for a week of prayer, praise, celebration and church business. I am personally grateful to be part of an organization such as Church of God.

Church of God has been foundational to the development of the Romanian Pentecostal Church in Romania and USA and in my personal life. I would like to share a few thoughts in Romanian. |

Mai Mult decat Biserica Locala
Biserica locala reprezinta viata intensa a trupului lui Christos, leaganul in care credinciosii se nasc, cresc si de unde pornesc in marea Misiune data de Isus. Este locul unde sunt slefuite caracterele, unde atat calitatile cat si slabiciunile ies in evidenta. Este locul unde ne bucuram si ne intristam, ne inchinam si ne atacam, locul unde ne facem rani si apoi legam ranile. Biserica locala este spitalul spiritual in care suntem tratati sau tratam noi insine pe alti. Cand traim doar intre zidurile bisericii locale avem tendinta sa credem ca asta-i tot. Noi, biserica locala, suntem Biserica! Noi suntem Biserica, oameni de aceeasi etnie, de aceeasi cultura, aceleasi traditii si cu acelasi stil. Astfel, Biserica locala devine focusul principal, cautand sa devenim tot mai autonomi, nederanjati de nimeni si nimic.
Dar Biserica este mult mai mult decat adunarea locala. Atat Isus, cat si Pavel prezinta Biserica in termeni universali, diversa din punct de vedere etnic, rasial, cultural, traditional. La final, Biserica lui Christos va fi “o mare gloata, pe care nu putea s-a numere nimeni, din orice neam, din orice semintie, din orice norod si de orice limba” (Apoc. 7:9).
Personal, am diferite modalitati de a iesi din modus vivendi al Bisericii locale. Una, si cea mai importanta, este Misiunea Mondiala. O alta modalitatea este participarea in diferite evenimente si activitati ale organizatiei de care apartinem, Church of God. La fiecare doi ani are loc Adunarea Generala. Anul acesta, in San Antonio, in perioada Iulie 25-29 va avea loc ce-a de-a 78-a Adunare Generala. Peste 15 mii de slujitori, lideri si laici, reprezentand 183 de tari se vor aduna impreuna pentru celebrare, inchinare, rugaciune, proclamare, partasie si organizare. Printre ei, va fi prezenta si o delegatie romaneasca.
Church of God este cea mai veche denominatie penticostala, fondata in anul 1886. Detine cea mai veche biserica penticostala din lume: North Cleveland Church of God (117 ani de lucrare continua, avand in prezent peste 3500 de membri). Cea mai inalta pozitie in COG este cea de General Overseer (Presedinte). In aceasta pozite a slujit in ultimii 6 ani Dr. Tim Hill, un prieten bun, un predicator fenomenal si un cantaret de renume in universul muzicii gospel. Dr. Hill este un lider vizionar cu o inima calda pentru Misiunea mondiala. In comitetul executiv au slujit si: Dr. Raymond Culpepper (a slujit ca general overseer anterior), J. David Stephens, Dr. David Ramirez (vicepresedinti) si John Childers (secretar general). In premiera, in acest comitet executiv a fost ales primul Hispanic (David Ramirez, Chile), fiind si primul din afara SUA.

This year the RTO Annual Pastoral Conference is going back to Hollywood, FL and will be hosted by Bishop Nelu Rus and Elim Romanian Church of God. I am grateful to them for taking upon this task. It will take place on

Church Celebrations
We want to congratulate Pastor Ionel Sferle and Mt. Tabor Church in Portland, OR who celebrated their 4th Anniversary on June 12. At this event, RTO was represented by Bishop Daniel Bela of Diaspora Church in Vancouver, OR. Let us to pray for the pastor and this church as they continue their spiritual journey.
We also congratulate pastor Elisei Adrian Lupu and Maranatha Church in Hagerstown, Maryland for the reopening of the church facilities after a complete remodeling project. What a great job they have done! RTO was represented by Bishop Simion Avram, Reading, PA, who serves as District Overseer.

The Pentecostal Church in Romania celebrates 100 years
This year the Pentecostal Church in Romanian celebrates its 100th Anniversary on September 9-11 with special celebrations in Paulis and Arad. The Pentecostal Church in Romania developed from modest beginnings to the largest Pentecostal movement in Europe. Congratulations!
UPCOMING: THE 52ND ROMANIAN PENTECOSTAL CONVENTION
After a 2-year hiatus, the Romanian Pentecostal Convention is being organized again in Phoenix by Pastor Cornel Avram and Happy Valley Romanian Pentecostal Church.

Vă salutăm pe toți în Numele scump al Domnului Nostru Isus Christos
După sfătuirea avută cu frații din Conducerea Uniunii, și cu aprobarea primită de la Liderii de Organizații (COG și AOG), am bucuria deplină să vă invit atât pe dumneavoastră cât și bisericile unde slujiți, la cea de a 52-a Convenție a Bisericilor Penticostale Române din Statele Unite și Canada.
Perioada desfășurarii Convenției: 2-5 Septembrie
Rugăm membrii Consiliului Pastoral să vină mai devreme, să sosească cel târziu Joi seara (1 Septembrie).
Consiliul Pastoral se va întâlni Vineri 2 Septembrie, dimineața la ora 9:00AM.
Tema Convenției va fi "Biruitori în Zilele din Urmă".
Prima slujbă: Vineri 2 Sept. la ora 6:00PM
Intrunirea Pastorală: Sâmbătă 3 Sept. 12:00PM
Picnic: Luni 5 Septembrie - Toți participanții la Convenție vor avea intrare gratuită la park (free parking).
Contractul cu hotelurile din apropiere a fost finalizat, și prețurile primite sunt foarte atrăgătoare. Costul la hotel va fi între $95 sau $105/noapte, pentru două persoane cu breakfast inclus și parcare gratuită.
