Coordinator, Special Education
Stacy has a wide and varied background working in both the private sector and in public education and is excited to join the RUSD Team. She earned her bachelor’s degree in child and adolescent development and her master’s degree in education, both from California State University, Fullerton. Stacy has worked as an early childhood educator, a middle school education specialist, an instructional coach and as a program specialist. For the past nine years she has supported the students of the Capistrano Unified School District. Her extensive experience in generating improved student achievement, modeling best practices, assisting teachers and administrators in analyzing student performance data, and in supporting school-wide progress and programs. She is also well-versed at implementing competency based professional learning and aligning resources to needs, resulting in an increase in teaching proficiencies for staff and learning competencies for students.  Stacy can be reached in the Special Education Department at

Principal, Nogales High School
The RUSD Board of Education appointed Dr. Andrea Brumbaugh as Principal of Nogales High School. With 25 years of experience in education, Andrea most recently served as the principal of  Nova Academy High School in Santa Ana, where the school has seen success in a variety of measurements. Prior to serving in her capacity of Principal, she served as Assistant Principal for more than 15 years in Capistrano Unified, followed by Fullerton Union High School District.  Her interpersonal skills, instructional leadership, determination, respect for honesty, integrity and fairness were recognized by those during the interview and selection process. "I am honored to serve the Nogales and RUSD community."

Structural Systems Supervisor, Building Services
Eric is excited to work near the neighborhood he grew up in, Hacienda Heights, (and is a proud graduate from Wilson High School). He spent more than 20 years with the City of Whittier in the Maintenance Division. Eric has experience overseeing projects both large and small, from remodeling the inside of community centers and theaters, to managing projects such as helping with concerts in the park and large community special events. "I look forward to getting to know everyone and working for the Rowland Unified School District team!"

Director, Secondary Education
The RUSD Board of Education also appointed Dr. Laura Rivas as Director of Secondary Education. She joins RUSD with extensive instructional leadership and administrative experience at the high school level.    For the past six years she served Downey Unified as principal at Warren High School, a comprehensive high school with approximately 3,800 students. Laura led the school to accomplish many accolades, such as the ESPN’s Top 5 Honor Roll school recognition, a California Gold Ribbon School Award, and the much-coveted California Distinguished School Award. She has dedicated her career to fostering a climate and culture of trust, respect, and partnership with students, staff and community.  Her instructional leadership and ability to build capacity for her leadership team will be instrumental to making the transition seamless in our Secondary Education Department at RUSD. "I am excited to join the Rowland Unified family and thrilled to support and continue the great work in creating innovative learning opportunities for all students."
