Rowland Unified Schools Celebrate
Read Across America
Above: Northam Elementary students enjoy guest readers visiting classrooms for Read Across America.
Community members and district staff visited classrooms across the District to read to students this month for Read Across America events. Thank you to everyone who shared their love of reading!

NORTHAM ELEMENTARY: "Our students really enjoyed meeting our guest readers, getting to know what they did to get to where they are, and discussing the importance and impact reading has on us all, "said Northam Principal Esther Garcia. "For our Read Across America event, we had in-person readers and remote readers. Even my sister, Marina Ronsse, read aloud for kindegarten from her home in Duvall, Washington! We are just so appreciative of everyone taking the time out of their day to share their love of reading with our students!"
A fabulous Read Across America day! Shout out to Karyn Formano and her scavenger hunt for TK-6. Kids loved hearing After The Fall and reflecting on the skill of perseverance! Powerful book for kids of all ages!

Rowland High FBLA Students Move On to State Championships
Futures Look Bright: Future Business Leaders of America students from Rowland High School are on their way to state championships next month.
The Rowland High School Future Business Leaders of America students received various awards at their recent Southern Section Conference. Now nine students will advance to the state championships in April to compete against schools from across California.

"During our virtual learning last year, many of our members were seasoned seniors who graduated. Therefore, this year is a building year for our FBLA chapter," said Rowland High School Business Education Teacher and Co-Advisor of FBLA, Caroline Manookian. "It's amazing to see these students overcome last year's hurdle, and excel in their regional competition. I'm very proud of their accomplishment and wish them success at the state competition in April."
