Information Sessions, Campus Tours
Learn about all RVCC has to offer by attending an Information Session in January at the College's Branchburg campus. The College is offering General Information Sessions as well a special session for those interested in its Cosmetology and Esthetics (Skin Care) career programs.

Free Educational Resources
In response to the skyrocketing cost of student textbooks, a growing number of RVCC courses have replaced traditional textbooks online resources that can be freely downloaded, edited and shared.

Honors College Independent Study Projects
RVCC's Honors College students presented their independent "Capstone Course" projects during a full-day symposium in December.
Project topics ran the gamut of subjects--from "Nation Divided: Analyzing Literature during the Civil War Era," to "Fake News and Its Real Implications on College Students," to "Designing a Simple, Practical and Cost Efficient Hydroponics System."

The Enactus RVCC team is the first recipient of the Leading Women Entrepreneurs (LWE) Future Leaders Award. The award recognizes those who have shown strong leadership and potential. The honorees also aim to inspire others to engage in innovation and community issues and make a difference.
Tracy Rimple, RVCC Associate Professor of Business and Sam Walton Fellow to the award-winning Enactus RVCC team, accepted the award on the group's behalf at The Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs Recognition Event, held November 12.

Eyes On Cancer Certification
Students in RVCC's Cosmetology and Esthetics programs participated in Eyes On Cancer, a certification course designed to help beauty professionals become more aware of skin cancer and recognize the early signs of melanoma on their clients.
RVCC's next daytime Cosmetology program will be held January 30, 2019-November 13, 2019. A daytime Esthetics program will be held January 31, 2019-July 22, 2019. Financial aid and industry scholarships are available for those who qualify.

Transfer Agreement for Online BSN Program
RVCC and Caldwell University have entered into a new agreement that will enable RVCC Nursing graduates to complete their bachelor's degree in only one year.

SBDC@RVCC Success Award Winner
Duck Donuts owner Carrie Neigel has been named the 2018 Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at RVCC Success Award winner. Neigel was recognized at the annual New Jersey Small Business Development Center Success Awards Luncheon, held at Forsgate Country Club.
Neigel established her first Duck Donuts shop in Green Brook in 2016. The SBDC at RVCC counseling staff, led by Regional Director Bill Harnden, provided essential business guidance and counseling to Neigel, who also attended SBDC business training courses offered by the Center. She is planning to open two additional shops in the near future.

ynne DeCicco
Dr. Lynne DeCicco has taught English Composition and Literature at RVCC for 35 years. Dr. DeCicco's final sabbatical project, "Portrait of an Age," highlights the founding of Somerset County College, from 1962-1970; this narrative, together with all early documents, studies, and correspondence, will be housed in the Archives in the Evelyn S. Field Library.

Deborah Corbett
Dr. Deborah Corbett has taught Psychology at RVCC since 1976. Dr. Corbett's final sabbatical project involved the use of brief classroom interventions aimed at improving students' approaches to thinking about challenging academic situations as well as the role that one's values plays in student persistence.

Christopher Koep
Professor Christopher Brand Koep is awarded the title of Professor Emeritus posthumously. Professor Koep taught Visual Arts at RVCC for more than 30 years and was a prolific painter whose work could be found in galleries throughout NJ. He is best remembered for his dedication to his students and colleagues, and his artwork.

Lunar Eclipse Event, Star Shows, Laser Concerts
The RVCC Planetarium January programs include a late-night Total Lunar Eclipse Viewing Party, laser concerts featuring music by Pink Floyd and Bon Jovi, and star shows for audiences of all ages.
