English & Spanish Information Sessions, Campus Tours
Learn about all RVCC has to offer by attending an Information Session in November at the College's Branchburg campus. The College is offering General Information Sessions as well as special sessions for those interested in its Cosmetology, Esthetics (Skin Care) and Automotive Technology career programs. In addition, RVCC will hold Information Sessions for adult students in English and in Spanish.

Honors College Information Session
Local high school seniors interested in learning more about RVCC's Honors College are invited to attend an Information Session, November 8, 6-8 p.m. The event will be held in the Atrium (College Center) at RVCC's Branchburg campus.
The evening will include information about admission to RVCC's Honors College and transfer opportunities after graduating from RVCC. Students in the top 20 percent of their high school class who possess a GPA of 3.5 or higher, or have a cumulative SAT score of 1100 or higher, are encouraged to attend.

RVCC will hold an Engineering Career Night Event, December 3, 6-8 p.m. The event, which is free of charge, is designed for prospective students interested in RVCC's Engineering Science program as well as anyone considering a career in engineering. It will be held in the College's Conference Center.

Agreement with TCNJ for Exercise Science Program
RVCC and The College of New Jersey have entered into a new agreement that will offer RVCC graduates the opportunity to seamlessly transfer to TCNJ to continue their studies in Exercise Science.
The new agreement will enable students who receive an Associate of Science in Exercise Science from RVCC to transfer into TCNJ's Health and Exercise Science Program for the Exercise Science track with junior status.

In honor of RVCC's 50th Anniversary celebration, Adjunct Professor Harry Hillard has created The First Fifty, a film that reflects on the College's first five decades.

The College's talented dancers/choreographers were recently honored when they were chosen to perform with the Format/Mayhem Dance Company at the Rochester Fringe Festival, New York, on September 22.
Two RVCC pieces were selected for the festival: RVCC Dance major Nathan Forster presented his piece, "Development," and Loretta Di Bianca Fois, RVCC Professor of Dance, presented her work, "With only the clothes on our backs." Marissa Aucoin, RVCC Adunct Faculty member, is the Artistic Director of Format Dance.

National Society of Leadership and Success
RVCC has launched a student chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). The nation's largest leadership honor society and collegiate leadership development program, NSLS includes nearly one million students at over 600 colleges in NJ and across the country. NSLS offers students the opportunity to develop many in-demand skills such as leadership, communication and team building.
To become inducted, students must complete an orientation and a three-hour leadership training focusing on identifying goals and overcoming obstacles; attend three speaker broadcast events that have featured Dr. Oz and Carla Hall of The Chew; and participate in success networking team meetings. The RVCC chapter includes 539 students, with approximately half of those students on track for induction this semester.

Domestic Violence Awareness Training
Students in RVCC's Cosmetology and Esthetics programs recently learned about the signs of domestic abuse and violence as part of the CUT IT OUT program. The students were trained in the program by Prevention Specialist Myrna Milan of Safe in Hunterdon.

November & December Shows
The Theatre at RVCC's offerings in November and December include a one-man show about folksinger/activist Pete Seeger, a holiday concert featuring Irish fiddler champion Eileen Ivers, and performances of The Great Russian Nutcracker and The Night Before Christmas Carol.

Film Highlights Early Space Program
The RVCC Planetarium has received a $2,000 NJ Space Grant Consortium award to purchase and screen First and Farthest, a film documenting America's early space program. The film, appropriate for audiences ages 8-adult, will be part of the Planetarium's public shows later this year to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Accompanying exhibits also will be featured at the Planetarium.
