April is National Volunteer Month

RWOP is entirely run by volunteers.

Our volunteers showcase the positive impact of volunteer work getting Republicans elected, sharing the rewarding experiences with helping our veterans, schools, food cupboards, rehab facilities, PASS, and many other areas. Your work is noticed!

Join me, and together, let’s celebrate the selfless contributions of our RWOP volunteers! Your work has meaning!

By offering your time and skills, volunteering helps create a sense of unity and solidarity while engaging, mentoring, and improving our club. Your work makes a difference!

I wish I could personally recognize all the volunteers who make RWOP shine, but it’s impossible. I thank, celebrate, and honor each of you for the incredible contributions and selfless efforts that make a profound difference in our community. I am proud and appreciative as we continue to foster a spirit of service and a better RWOP!   A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!

IMPORTANT!!!

Have questions you would like answered by our City Candidates?

Please submit to me at oneavia@yahoo.com or rwop2024president@yahoo.com no later than Saturday, April 5th.

Reality check:

How are you doing? Watching the media circus locally and globally?

Do riots and protests get you down?

Hiding your Tesla in the garage?

Is Trump going to end democracy?

The left is absolutely unhinged.

Praise the Lord, I’ve never seen Trump on fire like this, and neither have the democrats.

NOTHING is off the table.

This is exactly what you and I voted for. And it will get messy; we all need to be prepared for the dirt being flung our way.

Want to protect your beautiful town? Arizona? Our great country?

You’ve come to the right place!

Every week, I scan through the hysterical democrat newsletters with disbelief. Not sure what planet these folks are on, but you’d think we had 30 days before a cataclysmic meteor strike.

RWOP is the counterweight to these radical leftists; while they march, protest, and shout to the skies, we invite dialogue and open forums for our civic leadership.

This month’s lunch meeting will feature incumbents and prospective Prescott mayoral and City Council candidates. No, we won’t allow you to graffiti Teslas in the parking lot, but you can meet and greet these candidates as we host a candidate forum. Disagree if you will, but our “democrat free” lobby & ballroom is always friendly and respectful.

Now, a bit of unpleasantness…

Do you know the infantile democrat groups are moving in permanently to our beautiful Courthouse Square? Some are bused in or carpool. Many are paid.

Also, we have the same old local liberals, mostly unwashed and full of vitriol. Yes, we support their First Amendment rights.

Yes, I’ve been down there with my Trump signs. Yes, they’re organized nationally and locally and “workshop” these protests and marches. Agitate, agitate, agitate is their slogan.

RWOP, however, is committed to winning elections and having Republicans at all levels of governance, from the school board to the White House. Counter-protests aren’t within our national charter, but we’re not going to ignore these ne’er-do-wells either.

What are your thoughts on having a “presence” at these rallies- a necessary evil, a righteous cause, or a frivolous waste of energy?

I’ll end on a high note. RWOP will sponsor the National Day of Prayer at Courthouse Square and the City of Prescott Mayor’s Breakfast on Thursday, May 1st.

Save the date, May 1st

Join your fellow Prescottonians for inspiration and fellowship.

Congress has designated this day to encourage all Americans to turn to God in prayer.

That, my friends, is going to be a great day!

Legislation - Susan Cohen

What’s Happening at the Arizona State Legislature, you ask?

The Arizona Senate and House hold a very thin Republican margin, and we cannot let

up. This is precisely why you must know how to use RTS – Request to Speak. And it’s

all done through your keyboard. While RTS is finished for this session, we will remind

you when you can be ready to give your feedback to our legislators.

Please reach out to Liz Davidson, VP of Education, and let’s get you on (key)board!

This legislative week is crazy busy. Here is what’s going on at the state legislature.

GRANITE CREEK CONVALESCENT

MOTHERS DAY TEA

FRIDAY MAY 9, Set up 12:30, Tea 2:00-4:00, RWOP Singers 2:30

Volunteers are needed to set up the tea tables and decorations and chat with the guests. We expect up to 50 women guests, so happy hostess faces are always welcome.

We also need people to make chicken salad tea sandwiches and two dozen soft cookies. Donations to cover the paper goods, decorations and food purchase are always welcome.

Just write checks to RWOP and indicate Mother’s Day Tea.

Bring donations to the Community Outreach table in the lobby by the door at the April luncheon. If you are available to help with a heartwarming activity that weekend, this is the perfect opportunity to bless these elderly women. You will be blessed!

Contact Barbara Orloff at barbara.orloff@yahoo.com or text or call her at 707-207-1727 if you wish to volunteer at or for this event.

AZFRW Region V Director- Heather Densmore

Every Active Member is welcome, and Associates related to an Active Member are welcome too!

The June Statewide Board Meeting and Membership Conference is coming up June 19-21, 2025, in Mesa, AZ. We Region V and the Clubs from Region 1 (Flagstaff RW, Munds Park MW, Prescott Valley RW, White Mountain RW, and Yavapai County RW) will be hosting this exciting conference for the 29 Az-FRW clubs in the State of Arizona.

These clubs represent over 3,000 members. Registration information will be out soon.

The host clubs will be responsible for members volunteering to help at the check-in

table, selling 50/50 drawing tickets, and selling opportunity tickets for the basket drawings. Each club will need to donate at least one basket for the drawings.

This year, we are also challenged with creating and implementing a fundraising event on

Friday night, there will be a draw to members in attendance and a networking opportunity

to meet people from other clubs. Samples of past events included a BUNCO night in 2023

(not well attended and not a big money maker) a Lake Havasu boat cruise in the winter of

2023 (additional $50 per person, yet sold out). An afternoon tea on Thursday before the conference at an elegant home in Tucson (well attended and made money).

If you have any ideas for a fundraiser, please contact me ASAP by phone at 949-293-

8149, or e-mail hdensmo@mtecom.net. Please put June Conference in the subject line.

Please forward ideas and find out the costs as soon as possible.

The Sheraton Mesa will be our host hotel, and room rates will only be $99 per night, plus

taxes, very reasonable. Please plan to attend the conference and volunteer to help

make it great. If you have never been to a statewide meeting, this is the one to go to!

RWOP Chaplain - Lillian Bish
