THE TRUMPETER - August 2025 | |
President's Message - Sue Davis
| | We’re two-thirds of the way through summer, and the incredible Trump team just rolls like a tidal wave through the world. As you read this, the ink is drying on trade deals with the European Union and Japan. Reciprocal tariffs mean fair trade for Americans. Iran- remember those guys? And Hamas? And NATO? And the supposed collapse of American diplomacy as we downsized the State Department? Winning, that’s what we’re doing lately. Respect is earned, and you can thank DJT for running cover to protect American interests. But the battle rages on… | | Drive west, only four counties away. Yes, that’s the charming Mayor Bass. If our recent Independence Day parade were to have been in Los Angeles County instead of Yavapai, what do you think the reception of RWOP would have been? Or for our Sheriff? Don't overlook what we have; apathy or lack of involvement will melt our state into another Newsom type California. Don’t let this happen to Yavapai County! | |
Tuesday, August 5th. Election Day.
Let’s get 100% participation.
Drop off your ballots early.
But, before you do, give some thought for whom and why you are voting.
The political atmosphere in the race for Prescott City Council and Mayor has increasingly shifted toward incivility and division. Unfortunately, politics in the City of Prescott, once grounded in mutual respect and constructive dialogue, has deteriorated into hostility and personal attacks. In my opinion, these tactics not only undermine productivity in governance but also erode public trust.
In today’s digital world, anyone can post anything — without accountability. Recently, the Republican Women of Prescott (RWOP) has been targeted by an anonymous online blog making unverified accusations. We all value the freedom to speak our minds—but with that freedom comes the duty to speak with honesty and integrity.
Before you form an opinion or cast a vote based on internet claims, ask yourself:
- Who is the author?
- What evidence is being provided?
- Can it be verified?
Anonymous sources can spread misinformation, often without consequences. If someone truly believes in their message, they should stand behind it.
Don’t let nameless voices on the internet guide your civic decisions. I encourage you to vote based on facts, track records, and transparent leadership.
Below are a few questions I ask you to consider before voting.
- Did you check candidate experience, track record and professional credibility?
- Did you research candidate stance on issues to confirm alignment with your priorities?
- Did you research their accountability/transparency?
- Did you check to see if the candidate will listen, and what is their presence in the community?
- Did you research candidate endorsements and where their funding comes from?
- Did you confirm candidate integrity, character and vision - and most importantly commitment even if they lose the race?
If you haven’t asked the above questions, then you still have work to do. And the great thing is, YOU STILL HAVE TIME!
Once you’ve done your homework for City Council and voted, I have another favor. If you have any love for the future of Arizona, please help us fire comrade Katie. 2026 can’t get here soon enough!

RWOP and President Trump support both of these Republican primary candidates for Arizona Governor, and we are giving you an opportunity to shake hands and talk with these two. An RWOP fundraiser for Veterans and Scholarships will take place this Saturday,
August 2, 2025,
Afternoon Tea at the Hassayampa Inn Featuring Congressman Andy Biggs.
Soon to follow
September 6, 2025,
Brunch at the Hassayampa Inn Featuring Karrin Taylor-Robson.
In closing, I know you all see the democrat leftists march in lockstep, but as informed, compassionate, thinking republicans, we don’t have to agree on everything. Let’s not give the democrats any more ammunition than they already have. Let’s keep our disagreements and drama private. I understand that sometimes passions can get overheated, but don’t embarrass and divide the Reublican party.
Instead, let’s keep winning. Democrats are in retreat-- let’s keep it that way. Bankrupt Planned Parenthood, choke off the NGO’s funding of BLM and Antifa, protect women’s sports, crush the academic’s indoctrination of our students, support ICE and our law enforcement brothers and sisters!
In closing, I give heartfelt thanks to RWOP’s leadership and to you as members. May we continue to pray for our country and give God the glory for all that is good.
Blessings for you and our Great Country,
Sue

Mark Your Calendars for the Next RWOP Academy
The Republican Women of Prescott has grown by leaps and bounds over the last
decade to maintain their status as the largest federated Republican women’s club in the
United States. It takes a lot of planning, organizing and teamwork to make the whole club hum. But how? How do you join a club this size (> 1,000 members) and then think,
Where do I fit in? What can I do to keep Yavapai County RED?
Over the last several years, the RWOP Academy has laid out all the history, operations,
and yearly goals to ensure our members know where they fit in, at the local, state, and
national levels. The 90-minute class is under the direction of Education VP Liz Davidson
and is taught by Legislative Chair Susan Cohen. The objective is to ensure all members
understand how the club is run and to see where members can volunteer.
The class is taught every quarter and is held at The Center on Rosser St. in
Prescott. At the end of the presentation, Board Members who attend will give further
perspective on their individual committees. With a smaller venue and fewer attendees,
there is plenty of time meet other members, share ideas, and ask questions. Each
attendee goes home with a folder of information that guides them beyond the class.
The next RWOP Academy is scheduled for late October. If you haven’t attended an
RWOP Academy class, please be sure to join us. Watch the www.RWOP.info calendar
for more information.
And THANK YOU for being a member of RWOP!
