THE TRUMPETER - January 2024 | |
President's Message - Sue Davis
| |
It’s a New Year; is it really 2024?!
RWOP is such a blessing to many of us. New and old friends share a common interest, doing what we can to make northern Arizona an even better place to live. We’re making a name for ourselves, earning respect at the local, state, and national levels. This is a big club; help make us the best club!
I’m impressed by the many RWOP volunteers who have stepped up to help in the New Year. We can’t predict what will happen in the political arena: Republican primaries, battles over voter integrity, and the mother of all prizes, the 2024 POTUS election. But we CAN make a huge difference in the direction of the 2024 elections through political education, engagement, personal investment, and strength in numbers.
| |
What can you do?
- Attend City Council, Board of Supervisors, and school board meetings (go with a friend if it’s your first time), send an email or letter to an elected official, and become a poll observer, precinct committeeman, and/or campaign volunteer.
- Remind a new neighbor (or better yet, help) to register to vote in Yavapai County and invite them to join RWOP, Republican Women of Prescott Valley, and Yavapai County Republican Women. Although full membership is restricted to one club, we can become associate members in other clubs established under AzFRW and NFRW.
- Help educate neighbors, Independents, and Democrats in your community to understand Republican values.
- Pray for Yavapai County, our great State of Arizona, and the USA!
- Agree today that you will vote for all Republican nominees in the General Election, no matter your differences.
- Answer RWOP survey(s). The newly elected Executive Committee and appointed Board of Directors need your input and help to put words into action. We’ll occasionally send out surveys to dig into your passions and suggestions. Why? RWOP can help plug you into volunteer teams to utilize your talents and skills in support of veterans, membership, legislative issues, scholarships, and community outreach, to name a few areas. And we need you to let us know how your leadership team may represent you better. You can be the resource needed to find solutions to issues that we face!
- Look for the “RWOP Information” table at the luncheons. We are counting on you to share a great idea, your insight, and your talents and work alongside us to politically educate and empower Republican women during this important and pivotal election year.
January 16 will be our first luncheon meeting of the year, and we have some fantastic speakers lined up. Introduce yourself to someone new and make acquaintances. Newcomers will appreciate your help with all things local.
Let’s work together to make RWOP the best club in the country and motivate one another to engage in the 2024 elections.
Prayers for blessings to each of you for a healthy and Happy New Year.
Sue Davis
