President's Message - Sue Davis
| | |
We stand at the threshold of an extraordinary milestone: the 250th anniversary of the founding of the American Republic. This historic moment is more than a celebration—it is a powerful reminder that the future of our nation is shaped by those willing to engage, lead, and act with conviction. The energy surrounding 2026 is real, and RWOP is ready!
As members of Republican Women of Prescott, it’s an honor to stand on the shoulders of remarkable women—women who have answered the call to lead, to serve, and to protect the values that define our Republic. My heart is filled with pride and gratitude for
the women within our RWOP family who continue to carry this legacy forward with courage, integrity, and determination in appointed and elected offices. The influence of RWOP reaches far beyond Prescott—our voices, our work, and our commitment matter to Arizona and to the nation.
President Donald J. Trump once captured the enduring spirit of American women when he said:
“From the untamed frontiers of the Western Plains to the
skyscrapers of Manhattan, American women in every generation
have shown extraordinary grit, courage, and devotion… Our
present generation stands on the shoulders of these titans.”
— Remarks at the Women’s Empowerment Panel, White House,
March 29, 2017
As the largest Republican women’s club in the nation, our strength lies in our numbers, our unity, and our willingness to act. When RWOP engages, elections are influenced, leaders are developed, and Republican values are advanced.
If I could ask just one thing of you this year, it would be this: take a risk. Speak up. Step forward. Volunteer. Mentor. Try something new.
Our generation brings wisdom, experience, time, and resources—powerful tools that should never be underestimated. There are no do-overs for 2026. This is our moment to lead boldly and make a lasting impact.
RWOP thrives because women answer the call to lead and serve. I am excited to welcome our 2026 RWOP Executive Committee.

Your new leadership team is energized, focused, and ready to charge into 2026—but can’t do it without YOU. We need your hands, your hearts, and your unique talents to carry us forward. These dedicated women are prepared to lead with vision, teamwork, and purpose during a pivotal year for our state and nation. But YOU are the driving force behind our impact and our growth. None of this momentum happens without volunteers stepping forward. Together, with their leadership and your passion, RWOP is poised for a truly powerful 2026.
Whether your passion is Armed Services, Scholarships, Fundraising, Website Management, or vital behind-the-scenes support, there is a meaningful place for you on our team. When each of us steps in and contributes a little, RWOP doesn’t just move mountains—we shape elections, influence policy, and strengthen our state and nation. Can I count on you?
| | |
Finally, with heartfelt appreciation, I extend sincere thanks to the women who have served RWOP so faithfully and effectively that are taking a well-deserved break. Your leadership, dedication, and willingness to serve have strengthened this organization and positioned us well for the future: Sue Tatar, Treasurer and 1st VP of Programs; Elaine Janks, 3rd VP of Membership; Morgan Swift, 4th VP of Communications; Liz Davidson, 5th VP of Education; Cynthia McSwain, Treasurer; Lillian Bish, Chaplain; Heather Densmore, Region V Director; Judy Kay Williams, Hospitality Chair; Nancy Grigas, Caring for America; Rinda Ranch-Hillis, Sergeant at Arms; and Kristin Baumgartner, Financial Oversight. Your service truly reflects the heart, strength, and effectiveness of RWOP. Thank you!
I would also like to recognize Lorraine Plourde and Cindy O’Dea as RWOP’s 2025 Volunteers of the Year. These two amazing women worked tirelessly on the Merchandise Team under the leadership of Mary Brauberger, and somehow made their dedication and time commitment look both fun and effortless. Their positive spirit and teamwork truly embody the heart of RWOP. Job well done!
In closing-- with faith as our foundation and gratitude in our hearts, let us step forward into 2026 together—trusting in God’s wisdom to guide us, united in purpose, and committed to reflecting His love and light in all that we do.
With gratitude,
Sue

Charity of the Month
This month Caring for America’s non-profit of the month is one that RWOP has been supporting for the past two years. Our ongoing help has been greatly appreciated.
The Yavapai Family Advocacy Center (YFAC) has been serving our community for 25 years. YFAC is the first and still only center of its kind. YFAC provides a safe environment for victims of interpersonal violence and their families to receive the help they need. In October 2000, YFAC began its journey as a “Program of Prevent Child Abuse”. Now, 25 years later YFAC is celebrating its Silver Anniversary as a fully independent 501c3. Our independence will bring with it future growth and expansion as we work to support all those in the community who need us, and you can help! Please see our “donate” page for more ways to support those in our community that are the most vulnerable.
Our January luncheon speaker will be Executive Director Missy Sikorik is currently also
appointed by the Governor’s Office to be the Yavapai County children’s justice coordinator. She has worked with children and families for more than 35 years, first as a schoolteacher for children with emotional and mental health issues, then as an intake counselor with children in detention and shelter services. Prior to her taking her current position with YFAC in 2016, she was the supervisor over investigations with the Arizona Department of Child Safety in Prescott. She holds a bachelor’s degree in counseling and human services; a master’s degree in special education; and is a Certified Public Manager. She served 14 years as a board member and past board president for the Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation, and Missy co-chairs the Yavapai County Multi-Disciplinary Task Force responding to Human Trafficking.
RWOP is collecting items to support these individuals at the February Luncheon.
All items must be new. We are asking for any of the items listed below:
