This past Sunday evening the Democrats held a rally at the Courthouse Plaza; they were met by a small group of RWOP members to show presence, waving Republican signs on their perimeter.
We showed up to share our respectful commitment and support to the Republican Party. I am thankful that most democrats attending the rally reciprocated the respect.
However, some statements and accusations made by a few Democratic supporters were abrasive, insulting, combative, angry, and came close to assault. I will forever defend First Amendment rights, but the vitriol and aggressive behavior validated the sadness and concern I have felt throughout this campaign year. These people have a true lack of civics and civility and have been gaslighted by our schools and media. The anger and animosity displayed over a simple difference of opinion adds to the ache in my heart that many live in fear and hatred because they don’t have faith in God.
Undeniably, a significant portion of today’s mainstream media is laden with bias, propagating division and hatred. Misrepresentation, manipulation, and misinformation are all too common and have become the “new norm.” Crass, false, unbecoming speech and behavior have risen to an unacceptable level that you and I should be very uncomfortable with, even horrified!
Even more ghastly is that our children and grandchildren may know nothing different than this liberal bias, as they are inundated with media and social encouragement to change who God created them to be.
Let’s remember the core values of the Republican Party.

What is the Republican Party?
The Republican Party is a political party in the United States founded in 1854. Its first elected president was Abraham Lincoln, who took office in 1861.
What does the Republican Party stand for?
The Republican Party traces its roots to the 1850s when antislavery leaders joined forces to oppose the extension of slavery into the Kansas and Nebraska territories. The party ultimately stood for slavery’s complete abolition. Today, Republicans advocate reduced taxes to stimulate the economy and advance individual economic freedom, and they generally support conservative social policies. Republicans also tend to oppose extensive government regulation of the economy, government-funded social programs, and affirmative action. Regarding foreign policy, the Republican Party traditionally has supported a strong national defense and the aggressive pursuit of U.S. national security interests. Republicans also support states’ rights against the federal government's power in most cases.
