Dear Congregation Kehillah and Friends,

As we are in the intermediary days of Passover, we take a break from the regular cycle of Torah readings and chant special sections relating to the Passover festival and sacrifices offered when the Temple was standing. We will hold a Yizkor morning service on Sunday, April 4th at 10:00 a.m. Please email [email protected] before
Shabbat so we know to expect you. You may wish to light a yahrzeit candle before lighting Shabbat candles this week.

Tradition teaches that the parting of the Sea of Reeds transpired on the seventh day of Passover.

A Springtime tradition is to study Pirke Avot weekly. In response to several requests, we will again offer Pirke Avot learning soon.

Another tradition is to read the Song of Songs (found in the very last part of our Tanakh in the Megillot/Scrolls section) starting at Pesach and continuing through the next months. The kavannah I offer for this week's candle lighting is from Shir HaShirim - The Song of Songs:

"Much water cannot quench love and rivers will not wash it away." May there be a constant flow of the love I give and the love I receive, and may it all lead me to You.

Wishing you a sweet Yom Tov and Shabbat Shalom.
