Dear OJC Community,
We hope you had a wonderful Chanukah and peaceful end of year celebrations. As we begin 2025, we are thrilled to provide you with an update on our search for a Rabbi/Education Director.
As we shared with you in November, we are currently reviewing the applications of Rabbinical candidates through the Rabbinical Assembly, the Conservative movement’s organization representing rabbis. We have invited two candidates to visit the OJC next week. During each candidate’s visit, they will observe Kulanu, have dinner with our Rabbis, teach a short adult education class, and interview in person with our search committee. Should we determine to move forward with one or both of these candidates, we will schedule final in-person visits over Shabbat on February 8 and February 15 to afford the community other opportunities to meet and learn from the candidate(s). Finally, consistent with our previous updates, should we not identify a Rabbinical candidate for this role, we will broaden our search to include professional Jewish educators and update the responsibilities accordingly.
We appreciate your ongoing support and engagement as we continue this important initiative to find a leader who embodies our community's values, shares our vision for the future and supports our congregation’s spiritual and educational goals.
L’Shalom,
Justin Rubinstein, President
Benay Josselson and Josh Turnof, co-Senior Vice Presidents
