Sponsor Spotlight:
Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley
'Event weekend is focal point' for Relay Sponsor
Helping community members live healthier lives is core to the mission of The Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the
Fox Valley (OSI).

"Partnering with the marathon is a way
to help our community," said CEO
Curt Kubiak . "We believe there’s no
reason the Fox Cities can’t be the
healthiest region in the country."

OSI sponsors the Relay Marathon and the Race Medical Director Dr. Mark Westfall. Plus, OSI employees have a strong volunteer presence on the course and finish line, as well as a large contingent of employees taking part in the races.

"Simply put, the event weekend is a focal point on our calendar," said Dr. Todd Derksen .

Community Program Director Courtney Vosters added, "One of the great things about the Relay is the team building from different businesses that have gotten involved, seeing friendly competitions between friends / husband & wife teams, and to see the friendships and connections that have developed because of this amazing event."

Preparations for this year's event started at the conclusion of last year's marathon, shared Westfall, "As every runner knows, careful and thorough preparation can pay extraordinary dividends on race day. A simple mindset, with a focus on meticulous preparation can result in the best and safest  – event possible."

Continued support is easy for the OSI team, "This event is extremely powerful," said Tammy Williams , COO. "It shines a light on our communities and the spirit of volunteerism that is so strong in our state. The event weekend takes a tremendous effort from everyone involved, and every year it is a success. We are proud to be a part of
the team."

OSI has seven locations in Northeast Wisconsin. It is the realization of a concept. What would orthopedic care look like if designed from the ground up around the patient, their experience, and their end goal? The result is a truly unique model for muscle, bone, spine, and joint care.

Thank you OSI for your continued support of the Fox Cities Marathon!

Giving Back: PaceSetters of the Fox Cities
Supporting the running and walking community all year long
Support, education, friendship ...
that's what the PaceSetters of the
Fox Cities is all about.

"We are an educational, informational and social organization encouraging everyone to go out and get fit," said Gloria West , President of the PaceSetters. "Without the donation from the marathon, it would be impossible for us to give such support to the running and walking community."

West shared that funds from the marathon go to support year round activities.

"We give scholarships to graduating seniors that are great runners to help them further their running career at college," she said. "We financially support the Neenah Summer Kids Running program, the St. Joe's Pantry Run, fun runs for the public, and many local Boy Scout Troops that help out at our marathon training runs. In gratitude for this generous donation, we like to volunteer at the marathon too."

The partnership with the Community First Fox Cities Marathon is a sense of pride for the running club.

"It has really given a lot of ownership and loyalty to this marathon. After all, it is in our hometown," said West. "Many of the members in the Pacesetters do a couple marathon every year, but the Community First Fox Cities Marathon always stays on their list. What is so inspiring is this marathon has so many community-spirited residents along the course that you can't help but get high-fives from somebody you know!"
Course Corner: Miles 9-12
The next four miles of the course provide a challenge, but you’re also rewarded with picturesque views of the Fox River in Combined Locks, a long flat section of road in Kimberly and more trails that wind through Sunset Park in Kimberly.

Don’t be fooled as you near the halfway point of the course, it’s important to not panic and focus on maintaining your pace; make it through the rolling hills of Combined Locks and Kimberly and you will have 3+ miles of flat, and downhill terrain to recover!
