Racing & Gaming Conference at Saratoga to Examine the

Future of Sports Betting and Integrity Challenges

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY: As sports betting continues to expand across the United States, wagering has evolved far beyond traditional win-loss outcomes. Proposition bets, in-play wagering, and increasingly granular micro-markets have transformed the sports betting landscape while creating new challenges for regulators, operators, leagues, law enforcement, and athletes charged with protecting the integrity of competition.

To examine these issues, the Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga (RGCS) will present a featured panel, ”Prop Bets, Point Shaving, and the Hunt for a 'Square Game,’” during the conference, August 10-12 at the Saratoga Hilton.

Moderated by Brad Fischer, Of Counsel at Orrick, the panel brings together a distinguished group of experts representing government, professional sports, technology, and collegiate athletics:

  • Jason Clairmont, Principal BD Industry Specialist, Betting and Gaming, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Dan Hartman, former Director, Colorado Division of Gaming
  • Abiskar Mitra, SVP, Business Affairs, Major League Soccer
  • Lou Rogacki, Assistant Attorney General, Deputy Director, New Jersey Division of Gaming
  • Dwayne Killings, Men’s Basketball Coach, University at Albany

This year’s conference will also include:

NBC’s Steve Kornacki to headline with a discussion called “Concentration, Competition and the Future of American Horse Racing”

  • Integrity, Horse Welfare, and the Human Element in Racing
  • Regulatory Modernization in U.S. Racing and HISA Update
  • Prediction Markets: Innovation or Regulatory and Legal Challenge
  • Downstate Casinos and the Future of Gaming in the Northeast
  • iGaming: Inevitable Innovation or Passing Fancy?
