I am a Truth seeker and a Truth teller.
This has not been an easy road to travel.
One of the hardest lessons has been learning discernment.
It took me years to realize some people do not want to know Truth.
I did not understand this because as painful as it can be, I prefer truth over pretense and lies. Dishonesty makes me feel discombobulated and crazy.
Of course I have been wrong about things. I have opened my mouth prematurely and I have said inappropriate things that caused harm.
I have had to do a lot compassionate self-forgiveness work around this.
Truth is tricky because our perceptual filters influence how we see things,
but what I am referring to here are basic Truths or tenets that guide me:
Be kind.
Be honest.
Be genuine.
Be compassionate.
Treat people fairly.
Help when you can.
Apologize when you hurt someone.
Take Responsibility for your part.
Think of how your actions impact others.
Do not lie, cheat or steal.
Don't be racist, hateful or cruel.
I call these Truths because they are foundational guideposts on being human, living in community, and caring for one another and our planet.
When I see people violate these Truths, I often speak up.
I call myself out on violations too. Sometimes I do this publicly because it helps with accountability. Learning how to show up as our authentic Self, which embodies Truths like these is a life-long process, but it's worth it!
Being a Kindergarten teacher reminded me of our true nature.
These are innate ways of being for us. We are naturally kind and compassionate. We tell the truth until we learn to lie and pretend.
When we are little and in supportive environments, we lean into doing what is fair, right and just for all. This is contradictory to many theories that taught us that children were naughty, and we were born in sin.
Sadly, the President and his regime are violating these Truths daily.
Loudly. Blatantly. Proudly. And at alarming rates.
This is what is so disturbing and disruptive.
We are living in a completely upside down world right now where racism, hatred, greed, narcissism, cruelty and revenge are not only the norm,
they are being encouraged, honored, rewarded and celebrated.
It is like being in a dystopian horror film where all the bad guys have completely taken over and our world is crumbling before us, with
people cheering on the retribution, death and destruction.
It is so intensely bizarre that I have finally come to a place of surrender.
On the human level, it is completely heartbreaking to witness.
And, something new is coming in strong and clear.
I cannot put what's happening into words, but it's a deeper embodiment
of the Light. We are this already, but the anchoring IN of our awareness of it is happening, and no darkness or negative force can touch this.
In the meantime, I will continue speaking up for Truth, Equality, Justice and Love. I will call out hard things because I can't be silent and remain true to my Soul. We are in the midst of the great Awakening and many of us are here.

It was painted by a man named Max Fowler who shared it on Facebook,
and he gave me permission to use it for my signs in local protests.
While everything we know as good, kind, honest, fair, forward-moving, compassionate and loving appears to be under attack now,
the Light is here shining brighter and fuller than ever.
It is a reminder that the Christ Light cannot be diminished.
Thank God!
This Light is you and me.
We came to be this together.
One tiny Light eliminates darkness.
We are many and the Light is mighty.

PS Thank you to those who have reached out and been praying for me.
I was recently hospitalized with severe stomach pain. Doctors found a cantaloupe sized fibroid that needs to be removed through a full hysterectomy. Light to me getting scheduled for surgery soon and this going well.
