Today, Brisbane/Meanjin rock band Radium Dolls share "Moving," the anthemic new single from their upcoming album Wound Up, which arrives January 30, 2026 – listen. With its nostalgic warmth and thunderous chorus, "Moving" is a poignant reflection on the bittersweet ending of a seven-year relationship.

Centered on the moment of physically moving house after a breakup, the song sits in the quiet space between love and loss; the tenderness, the shock, and the strange kindness of two people still helping each other through the final steps. It’s a story of two hearts breaking in parallel, even as they try to let go.

Frontman Will Perkins shares,Having recently moved out of my house with my brother Tom, I was reminded about when I first moved in. My long term ex-partner and I had just split, and it was a difficult and tumultuous time for both of us. Despite this, we remained supportive of each other and she came to help me with my things when I was struggling emotionally and physically with the workload and new beginnings. We remain great friends to this day, and I am immensely proud and grateful for the way we were able to navigate that highly emotional period of time.”

“'Moving' was written in one afternoon," explains lead guitarist Tom Perkins. "I was playing the verse idea when Will brought in a poem he’d already written, which quickly shaped the lyrics. The band ran the track a couple of times–maybe two or three full plays–and the song was essentially finished on the spot. It’s remained unchanged since that day.

Known for their captivating, high-energy live shows and audacious '70s-inspired rock 'n' roll, Radium Dolls are gearing up for a huge 2026 following back-to-back sold-out shows in Australia this year. They've been previewing their highly anticipated second album Wound Up since June, sharing the addictively gritty singles "Scorching Heat," "Golden Boy," and "Unravel." Uncompromising in its honesty and intensity, Wound Up sees the band put the pedal to the metal to create with steadfast passion, even when it feels like the world is closing in around them.

"We all work hard in every aspect of our lives, but we find catharsis in music and performance and we will do it til the wheels fall off. This album to me is about that, we all get a bit wound up sometimes but we keep going and we do what we have to do," says Will.

Wound Up arrives next month, followed by headlining tour dates across Australia, as well as the band's first North American tour, which includes a SXSW showcase. See all dates below, and find more information/purchase tickets here.

ABOUT RADIUM DOLLS:

Radium Dolls are fast becoming one of Australia’s most essential live rock acts, known for their explosive live energy, sharp lyricism and dynamic sound. Having carved out a distinct corner in Brisbane’s rock lineage, the four-piece’s signature songwriting blends raw storytelling and exceptional musicianship that is delivered with a swagger and sincerity that’s impossible to ignore.

Radium Dolls first emerged with their debut EP Bel-Haven (2020), quickly building a local following and supporting bands like Ruby Fields, The Grogans, Full Flower Moon Band, Civic and Floodlights. Their next EP All Doll’d Up (2023) marked a major step forward with their first headline tour, led by fan-favorite single "Tractor Parts," which has now surpassed one million streams.

Their debut album Legal Speed (March 2024) cemented their reputation as a powerful new force in Australian rock, earning national airplay, critical acclaim, a QLD Album of the Year nomination, and a growing cult of fans. The album tour saw the band play packed shows along the East Coast, including a sell-out at the iconic The Zoo in Brisbane, as well as two sold-out Melbourne shows. Follow-up singles "Man Scout" and "Scorching Heat" continued that momentum into late 2024 and 2025, each backed by headline tours across the country. The Scorching Heat Tour marked their biggest run yet, selling out shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide. The single also earned finalist status in the 2025 Unsigned Only Awards, solidifying their growing international reach.

With tastemaker Derrick Gee declaring them his “favorite band of the moment” to over a million followers, Radium Dolls’ global presence continues to grow. Their upcoming sophomore album Wound Up (out January 2026) sees them poised for a breakout year, with a SXSW showcase and debut U.S. tour confirmed for March. Radium Dolls are charging into their next era, redefining what modern Australian rock can be.
