Radney Foster with Red Meat Celebrate Foster’s Iconic Del Rio, TX 1959

June 17 at Felton Music Hall and June 18 at The Chapel

May 8, 2023 – Nashville, TN – Texas singer and songwriter, Radney Foster, has enlisted famed San Francisco band, Red Meat, to tour California on the 30th anniversary of his solo debut Del Rio, TX 1959 June 17th at Felton Music Hall and June 18th at The Chapel. The collection yielded five singles on the Billboard charts: “Just Call Me Lonesome,” “Nobody Wins,” “Easier Said Than Done,” “Hammer and Nails,” and “Closing Time.” Red Meat will open the show with their hard twang Bakersfield-style country music, then back up Foster as they play the album top to bottom, followed by Foster’s other hits like “Raining on Sunday,” “Texas in 1880,” “Angel Flight” and “God Speed.”

“I’m a big fan of Red Meat,” says Foster. “I’ve been talking about doing something with them for years, and this seemed like the perfect fit.” Red Meat trace their musical roots to the hard honky tonk songs of their youths in Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ohio and the Ozarks, and over the last three decades have become one of the pre-eminent honky-tonk bands in California.

Foster first gained attention as half of the duo Foster & Lloyd (who, with “Crazy Over You” became the first duo in history to top the Country charts with their debut single), and established himself as a solo artist in the early 90’s with his Del Rio, Texas 1959. Foster’s discography contains countless cuts by artists ranging anywhere from country (Keith Urban, The Chicks, Brooks and Dunn) to contemporary (Marc Broussard, Hootie & The Blowfish, Los Lonely Boys) and his songs have sold 50 million copies worldwide.

Recently inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame, Foster joined

heroes like Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Billy Joe Shaver, Rodney Crowell, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Townes Van Zandt, Lefty Frizzell and many others.
