A Great Week to Be a Raider!
Dear Raider Families,
Sonora had another great week, filled with opportunities for our students and staff to connect, lead, achieve, and celebrate one another. One of the things I continue to appreciate most about our Raider community is the many ways our students find their place at Sonora. Whether through leadership, activities, athletics, academics, or simply building relationships with one another, we want every Raider to feel known, valued, supported, and connected.
Thursday, our Link Crew brought the energy with their Jam Game Slam, creating another fun opportunity for students to connect, build relationships, and strengthen our Raider community.
On Friday, Sonora's ASB participated in the FJUHSD ASB Symposium, where ASB students from across the district came together to learn leadership strategies and share ideas for engaging students. I love seeing our student leaders continue to grow and think intentionally about how they can help all students feel connected and like they belong at Sonora. Our very own ASB won 1st place in the spirit challenge!
Congratulations to our Boys Water Polo team, who earned 1st Place in the Bronze Division at the Varsity Saddleback Tournament! The Raiders finished the tournament with four wins, an outstanding accomplishment for our athletes and coaches. Way to represent Sonora!
We are also incredibly proud to celebrate Agriculture teacher Jeremy Johnson, who was recognized as an Outstanding Agriculture Teacher by the California Agricultural Teachers' Association, Orange Section. This recognition reflects the dedication Mr. Johnson brings to our students and our Agriculture program. Congratulations, Mr. Johnson! We are lucky to have you as part of our Raider family!
Looking Ahead
We have another exciting week ahead at Sonora! I am especially looking forward to celebrating our students as they share their talents and represent our Raider community.
- 🎶 Choir Fall Concert – Autumn Nocturne at the La Habra High School Performing Arts Center. We can't wait to hear our talented Choir students and celebrate all of the work they have put into preparing for their fall performance.
- 🏈 Varsity Football vs. Fountain Valley — Friday, October 2, from 7:00–10:00 p.m. Come out and join us as we cheer on our Raiders!
