Please see the announcement below from our Superintendent, Dr. McLaughlin, and join us in welcoming and congratulating Principal Maggie Crail!

Allen Whitten

Interim Principal

Dear FJUHSD Students, Staff, and Families,

It is with great excitement that I share the appointment of Maggie Crail as the new Principal of Sonora High School, pending board approval on April 14, with her assignment beginning on June 1, 2026.

Mrs. Crail brings a deep commitment to student learning, strong relationships, and collaborative leadership. She currently serves as Assistant Principal of Student Affairs at Sonora High School, where she has played a key role in supporting student programs, strengthening school culture, and advancing instructional practices through Professional Learning Communities. Her leadership has been instrumental in areas such as student activities and athletics, schoolwide events, staff collaboration, and data-informed decision-making.

Throughout her career in FJUHSD, Mrs. Crail has demonstrated a passion for fostering environments where every student is known, supported, and challenged. As a longtime educator and instructional leader, she has contributed to

curriculum development, professional learning, and student-centered programs that emphasize both rigor and creativity.

Mrs. Crail’s leadership philosophy centers on being a “lead learner” who builds strong relationships, establishes clear expectations, and creates systems that support both students and staff. She is dedicated to ensuring that all students

have access to meaningful learning experiences, co-curricular opportunities, and the support they need to succeed. Her continuity at Sonora High School, combined with her vision for shared leadership and student success, positions her well

to lead the Raider community forward.

Please join us in congratulating Maggie Crail on her new role and welcoming her as the Principal of Sonora High School. We look forward to the continued growth and success of the Sonora High School community under her leadership.

Sonora High School — Athletic Signing Day!

This past week, we celebrated a special milestone for some of our incredible student-athletes at Sonora High School — Signing Day!

Our Raiders have officially committed to continuing their academic and athletic journeys at the next level, and we couldn't be more proud. This moment represents years of hard work, early mornings, late nights, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in both the classroom and competition.

Signing Day is more than just putting pen to paper. It's a celebration of dedication, perseverance, and the support from families, coaches, teammates, and staff who helped make this dream a reality.

To our student-athletes: You have set the standard and inspired the next generation of Raiders. We know you will represent Sonora with pride as you take this next step in your journey.

Once a Raider, always a Raider.

🌾 FFA – Celebrating Excellence, Raider Style

Our Sonora FFA students recently earned the incredible honor of receiving their State Degrees, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence in agricultural education.

Although these students were unable to attend the official State Degree Banquet due to a scheduling conflict with Prom, our amazing FFA advisors made sure their achievements did not go unrecognized.

Right here on campus, they created a special mini banquet to celebrate our students and this major accomplishment. From start to finish, it was a meaningful event filled with pride, recognition, and Raider spirit.

This moment is a perfect example of what makes Sonora so special — a community that shows up, supports one another, and celebrates student success no matter what.

Congratulations to our State Degree recipients! We are so proud of you!

The momentum carried into extras, where our defense came up HUGE — 1, 2, 3 innings to shut the door on the Mustangs!
