Dear Raider Families:

This week, Sonora High School was filled with pride, emotion, and celebration as we honored our incredible seniors during Commitment Day 2025. In a gym packed with students, families, teachers, and staff, we recognized the exciting commitments our seniors have made as they take their next steps—whether to four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, military service, or trade and technical schools. Each commitment reflects not just a destination, but a journey of hard work, perseverance, and heart.

Commitment Day is more than just a moment on the calendar—it’s a powerful reminder of how far our students have come. From the first day of freshman year to now, they’ve grown into young adults ready to chase their dreams and face the future with courage. And throughout that journey, we as a school community have had the incredible honor of being part of their story. Whether in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, or through quiet moments of mentorship and support, we’ve helped nurture their potential and watched them rise to every challenge.

A very special thank you goes to our outstanding ASB leadership students, whose vision, creativity, and hard work brought Commitment Day to life. Their thoughtful planning, attention to detail, and passion for celebrating their classmates created an atmosphere that was truly unforgettable. From the banners and music to the personal touches that made each student feel seen and celebrated, ASB helped turn this event into a memory that will stay with us all for years to come.

To the Class of 2025—thank you for inspiring us. You’ve shown us what it means to dream big, work hard, and lead with heart. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. No matter where your journey takes you, you will always have a home here at Sonora. Congratulations!

Go Raiders!

We are proud to announce that Arianna Machado has been selected as the Student Board Member for the Fullerton Joint Union High School District for the 2025–2026 school year. This prestigious honor is a reflection of her leadership, character, and unwavering commitment to student voice and advocacy.

In this highly respected role, Arianna will represent over 13,000 students across all seven high schools in our district, serving as a critical voice in board decisions and helping to shape the future of education in our community. As Student Board Member, she will not only attend and participate in board meetings but will also bring forward the concerns, ideas, and aspirations of her fellow students—ensuring that their perspectives remain at the center of every conversation.

Throughout the rigorous application and interview process, Arianna exemplified excellence. Congratulations, Arianna! Your voice matters—and now, it will help lead an entire district.

Medical Careers Juniors and Seniors participated in Biolas Nursing Extravaganza today. Students received a lesson in patient lifts and restraints and got to practice using a hoyer lift. They also received a mini lesson from Biola biology and anatomy professors and got to participate in a cow eye dissection. Lastly, they received a great cafeteria lunch and got to hear from a panel of Biola nursing students about their experience in college and their nursing programs.

Boys Volleyball:

The boys traveled to Yucaipa HS last week for the first round. of the CIF playoffs. Despite falling to the Thunderbirds in three sets, our boys never gave up and battled to the end. Congratulations on a great season and we are proud of your accomplishments this year!
