Dear Sonora High School Families,

This week at Sonora High School, we had the incredible opportunity to host our Future Raiders during our annual Middle School Day, welcoming students from Washington, Imperial, and Rancho Starbuck Middle Schools. The energy on campus was electric as we shared the Sonora story, inviting these young scholars to envision how they can make our school their future home.

The day was much more than campus tours and program showcases—it was about building connections and planting the seeds of relationships that will grow throughout their high school journey. From our amazing student leaders to our dedicated program leads, every interaction was focused on creating a sense of belonging. We want every student to know that Sonora is a place where they can feel seen, valued, and supported.

At Sonora, we believe that every student brings unique gifts and talents to our community. Whether it’s in academics, athletics, the arts, or leadership, we are committed to helping students discover and develop their passions. Middle School Day was an exciting first step in showing these future Raiders the countless opportunities available to them to use their strengths and talents to build a future focused on success.

Watching our current students share their experiences and offer guidance to our visitors was truly inspiring. It’s a testament to the culture we strive to create every day—a culture of support, encouragement, and empowerment. We are proud to foster a school culture where every student has the tools and opportunities to thrive.

Thank you to everyone—staff, students, and families—who made Middle School Day such a success. Together, we are creating a legacy of excellence and opportunity that will continue to grow as these future Raiders take their first steps toward becoming part of our community.

With gratitude,

Steven A. Cazares

Principal, Sonora High School

Congratulations to Sophie Forrester for being named to the Los Angeles Chargers All-Star Game! We are super proud of this senior as she led our team during this historic run into the CIF Quarterfinals. Way to go!

Football: Last Friday night the Raiders faced the Royals from Quartz Hill HS in the CIFSS Division 9 Quarterfinals. Our boys showed great fight throughout the night, never giving up against a very tough opponent, but fell when the clock struck 0:00 by the score of 55-34. While it was not the way we hoped to end the season, we. could not be more proud of this team as they handled adversity time and time again. We will never forget the resiliency or the great moments they provided throughout the season.

We would also like to deeply thank this group of Seniors for their commitment to the program and each other as they have helped to build a successful foundation for the future. They have helped to create a positive trajectory for the program and their effort will never be forgotten.

Finally, we would like to sincerely thank Coach Oberlander and the rest of the coaching staff for their leadership and commitment to our student-athletes. We appreciate you all for the time and sacrifices you give to this program.
