Dear Raider Families,
Dear Sonora High School Families,
This past week was marked by a special occasion that brought us all together to honor the courage and sacrifices of our nation’s veterans. Our annual Veterans Day ceremony on campus was a great tribute, reminding us of the freedoms we cherish and the dedication of those who serve to protect them.
We owe a tremendous thank you to our JROTC program and to Sgt. Fritz Saalman for their outstanding work in organizing the ceremony. Their commitment and attention to detail created an environment filled with gratitude and respect. Our JROTC students exemplify the honor and discipline we associate with service. We also want to thank the representatives from the American Legion and the veterans who joined us that morning. Their presence was a powerful reminder of the resilience, courage, and selflessness that define our veterans.
Events like these are a vital part of our Sonora High tradition, instilling in our students and staff alike a deep appreciation for those who protect our country. It was heartwarming to see so many students, staff, and community members join together, demonstrating once again the strength of our Sonora High family.
As we continue to reflect on these themes of service and sacrifice, please remember that in observance of Veterans Day, there will be no school on Monday, November 11th. May this day serve as an opportunity for all of us to honor and remember our veterans and active-duty service members.
With gratitude,
Steven A. Cazares
Principal, Sonora High School
