GET YOUR RACE PACKETS
Today (Saturday, October 26) is the last day to collect your race number from Toyota Jamaica, 93 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6 up to 3:00pm. Remember, THERE IS NO NUMBER PICK-UP ON RACE DAY.
AVOID TRAFFIC CONGESTION
The race starts at 6:30am.
Avoid the pre-race traffic hassles by arriving in New Kingston by 5:45am, in good time to get to the Emancipation Park staging area for an energetic pre-race warm-up at 6:00am. All roads leading to the race route will be closed to vehicular traffic between 6:15am and 8:00am. Parking is not permitted along the race route and around the Emancipation Park staging area on Knutsford Boulevard and Oxford Road.
There is ample parking available in several parking lots: all KSAC lots (Lot B - Courtleigh Auditorium, Lot D - Flow, Lot F - Ministry of Commerce, Lot G - JMMB, Lot H - Burger King), Victoria Mutual Building Society - entrance on St. Lucia Avenue, Development Bank of Jamaica and the Planning Institute of Jamaica - entrance on Oxford Road.
TIMELINESS IS EVERYTHING
The Run race starts at 6:30am, followed by the Walk race at 6:40am. The start line closes at 7:10am.
Once again, the ICWI Pink Run features MYLAPS BibTag timing. Do not bend or fold your race bib as you may damage the chip and this will affect your race time. You must cross the mats at the start and finish to get an accurate race time. The number one complaint, "I didn't get a chip time" is solved by not covering your bib while starting/stopping your watch, and not jamming up close to others as you cross the timing mats. Our
Chip Timing Guidelines
will tell you more.
RACE DAY EATS
Have a good breakfast. Start hydrating from the day before and throughout race day. Be sure to drink 8ozs of water at least 20 minutes before the start and refuel at the hydration stations along the route and at the finish line.
We sincerely wish to keep our race-ready medical team idle. Please run within yourself and listen to your body. Should you feel any discomfort during the race, go to the nearest aid station or to the nearest course marshal and ask for assistance.
In case of emergency, PLEASE CALL (876) 351-6956 for immediate assistance. This number is also printed on your race bib.
