"I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love, so that you, together with all God’s people,

may have the power to understand how broad and long, how high and deep, is Christ’s love.”

— Ephesians 3:17-18 (GNT)

Rainbow Connections

There is nothing as beautiful as the clouds clearing on a rainy day to reveal a rainbow. A friend and neighbor of Chamblee First was recently driving by the church when he spotted this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon. Fortunately, his camera was handy and he stopped to capture this beautiful photo.

Across the world, rainbows are a symbol of hope. In Christian culture, a rainbow is a reminder of God’s grace and His promise of redemption. For many, a rainbow represents inclusivity as an all-embracing image of love and friendship. And, of course, in Irish folklore, the rainbow is a sign of good luck … indeed, CFUMC is a “pot of gold” for this community!

When I saw this photo, I was overwhelmed by God's majesty and the lyrics to a familiar hymn popped into my head.

Surely The Presence Of The Lord Is In This Place

I Can Feel His Mighty Power And His Grace

I Can Hear The Brush Of Angel’s Wings

I See Glory On Each Face

Surely The Presence Of The Lord Is In This Place

What does a rainbow mean for you? Perhaps, the next time you see one, you will be encouraged, inspired, and reminded of hope and peace.
