The fight to push Raise the Age legislation (SB434) to a vote starts Wednesday, May 30th!
Greetings!

Raise the age allies stood 150+ strong on May 17 at Child & Family Advocacy Day. The sea of orange tee's throughout the day and inside the doors of the General Assembly were a strong reminder for NC leaders that Raise the Age has to happen in 2012! THANK YOU ALL for a very successful day!

But remember, the fight is not over!

NEXT WEDNESDAY, MAY 30TH, our raise the age bill (SB 434) is scheduled to be heard in the Judiciary A committee at 10am in Room 1327 of the Legislative Building.

CALL TO ACTION: We really want our allies, friends, parents and youth to attend the committee meeting. Come dressed in your Raise the Age t-shirts. Let's show the committee that WE ALL SUPPORT Raising the Age and THEY SHOULD TOO!

CALL TO ACTION: Also, please call or email the House Judiciary Subcommittee A members! Contact info for each member is listed in the grey box.

The message to share with committee members:

Vote YES on SB 434 to raise the juvenile age from 16 to 18 for youth who commit misdemeanors! Give NC kids the same opportunities as kids in 48 other states, its best for our youth, our state and our economy. Thank you if you already support raising the age!
