Raising Quality!  IMPACT Newsletter
June 2018
Aaah, summer - For kids, it's that long anticipated stretch of lazy, lingering days, free of responsibility (oh, to be a kid again) and rife with possibility. It's a time to hunt for insects, master handstands, practice swimming strokes, conquer trees, explore nooks and crannies, and make new friends.

For parents, summer is the time when they realize teachers and providers are grossly underpaid!

What's in a Name?

Theory of Play, a private early learning center in Tracy, certainly lives up to its name. The center hosted Cathy Cole's workshop, "What Children Learn Through Play" in May, where attendees learned that play promotes success--it's how children learn.

Each participant received a new Lakeshore toy to explore new possibilities for play, like a Create-a-Burger Sequencing Stacker or a What's Inside? Feely Box . And the attendees got to play, too--making batches of play dough and fizzy, exploding mini-volcanoes in baggies. (Luckily, Theory of Play sustained no damage!)

A big thanks to Theory of Play's Director, Angel Hansen, for graciously hosting this workshop. Little did she know she'd be dodging volcanic eruptions! All in the name of Raising Quality!

If you'd like to have a workshop at your location, let us know . . . we'll supply the fun!
