Liberty And Justice For All
I hope that everyone had a happy Fourth of July! I was happy to see so many of you at our community events celebrating our great nation's independence.
It was a pleasure to participate in Lake Junaluska's Fourth of July Parade.
I was honored to speak at the unveiling of a brand new legacy monument to the brave patriots of the American Revolution on the grounds of our Historic Haywood County Courthouse. The statue, created by our own Earl Lanning, memorializes the sacrifices that our forefathers made when they fought to found our new nation and secure liberty and justice for all.
This statue is a breathtaking sight to see in person!

Joe Sam's Notes
As we all joined with family and friends to celebrate our country's independence, I hope you were able to take a moment and reflect on the incredible job that our founders were tasked with in creating this nation as well their challenge to us to continue their commitment to Form a More Perfect Union.
"E Pluribus Unum," our country's first motto, was adopted by our nation's Congress in 1782, heading into the final year of the American Revolution.
Nearly a century after the American Revolution, President Abraham Lincoln recalled the insightful words of our Declaration of Independence when he gave his Gettysburg Address, furthering our effort to create this More Perfect Union.
Our Pledge of Allegiance was written in its first form by Francis Bellamy in 1892.
United we stand!

Sincerely,
Please share this with your friends!
