Hi everyone!

I hope y’all are ready to rally at Rally Day! Our first job at Rally Day is to have a great time together, sharing food and catching up with our friends.

Our other job at Rally Day is starting the year off with great communication. I know that getting an up to date directory is important for creating and nourishing community. What if I told you that you could have a directory on your phone for whenever you need it? Or an up to the minute paper directory if you need it?  Sounds great, right?

Tomorrow you should be getting an invitation to Realm from Good Shepherd. You can follow the link and sign in, check your information, and opt into the directory. There are some video links to watch if that’s helpful.

If you would rather have someone help you through the process, we are having a table at Rally Day with our wonderful staff and valiant volunteer Bill Walker.

Even if you think you’re never going to use the app, please login anyway! We can’t get the directory going unless the information is accurate and we have your privacy consent. Once the information is there, having a paper directory is as easy as clicking “print.” It’s all the stuff before that’s tricky!

I’m looking forward to seeing friends new and old on Sunday. Get ready to party!

PS Realm is good for a whole bunch of other things too— pledge balances, all sorts of sign-ups, and emergency messaging, to name a few. Thank you!!!

This Week at Good Shepherd

Rally Day This Sunday Sept. 7 at 10:00 (One Service Sunday Sept. 7!) We will share a common service and roll into a great big party. We’ll take a great big Good Shepherd family picture and have a picnic, with games for all ages. We’re on the lookout for folks who can help us identify some unlabeled

pictures we’ve found in the archives, so please be sure to invite anyone and everyone from Good Shepherd’s past to help us fill in our history and look to our future! This is a great day to invite your kids and grandkids, and folks who have moved away. Vibe

is “It’s SO GREAT to see everyone!” We'll be providing fried chicken & BBQ, plates, plasticware, and drinks. What can you bring? If your last name begins with:

A-F bring a salad

G-M bring a side dish or casserole

N-S bring a dessert

T-Z Bring fruit and/or veggies.

September Is Suicide Prevention Month

The church often acts as the first line of defense by providing support and resources for those who are struggling. Studies show that among religious people seeking treatment, approximately 25% turn to the church first for help. In observance of Suicide Prevention Month, this week we share two opportunities to learn more about supporting mental health in our communities.
