I Like to Move It - Move It!

See you Tomorrow

Over the years this church has celebrated an end of summer and 'back to school' Sunday.

Often referred to as Rally Day.

Now the kids go back to school in Mid- August but for many of us summer still feels like it lasts thru Labor Day Weekend.

Tomorrow following our 9am morning celebration, at 10am we will gather in the small fellowship hall downstairs to share a meal and meet and greet one another. Ahuge thanks to everyone who has signed up to bring food and drinks.  Everything is provided and there is plenty of room at the table for you and yours.

Our theme for the day is "Living in a land of Plenty." How much is enough? How many of us have enough? How many of us do not have enough? There is always enough at God's table. There is always plenty in God's economy. Our lessons that instruct us about equitable distribution are Exodus 16:2-15 and Luke 9:10-17.

As always you can also watch the service from the safety and convenience of your home. The zoom link is

All of our Sunday services use the same zoom meeting so in case you are ever looking for the zoom information you can keep this handy and / or you can head over to our web page at www.McHenryFUMC.org where it is also listed.

Enjoy this day..... another marvelous Saturday. Stay safe and courageous as followers of Jesus.

Sunday School for our Children Resumes

Nursery Care?

Tomorrow we will resume a 'Sunday School' time for our children. Leading the class will be Brad Eyers. Brad is excited to get back with the kids.

We are going to do it a bit different this year. Brad will be seated at the back of the sanctuary and after our opening will invite any youth who wish to come with him down the hall to what is marked as our 'nursery'. Recently this room has been under utilized so this seems like a great place for this class. It will allow parents easy access should a child stay longer in worship and then decide they would like to join the class.  And 'parents' will be close if a child wants to rejoin their 'parents' in the sanctuary.

I listed "Nursery Care?" with a question mark above because while we have not had an expressed need, nor have we 'staffed' the nursery we want to know if not having a nursery is adversely impacting anyone's Sunday participation. We might not have a quick and easy solution but we want to do everything we can to make everyone's Sunday morning experience as meaningful and helpful as possible.  If you or someone you know is interested in having help with an infant please respond to me (pastor Kurt) at kagoffice@earthlink.net and we can start up a discussion.

Windows to our Church

Windows to the World

Good News! The 8 replacement windows have been installed. These new windows will help keep the heat cost down this winter.  Our "old" windows were just that....old and very inefficient.   A huge thanks to everyone who contributed towards the first payment of the windows. Of your contributions along with St. Paul’s church contributions, $3200 was raised.

We are now asking for your help in paying the final payment ($3,170.94). If you could find it in your heart to contribute $50-$100 (and more if possible and any amount , First United Methodist Church of McHenry would be most appreciative. Mail your check to our church address (3717 W. Main) made out to FUMC with replacement windows in the line item or as always, you may contribute online.

Thank you!
