Faces of Faith this week: Adam & Eve
We are ending our faces of faith at the beginning...with Adam and Eve. It is a way to punctuate that, from the beginning, we were not intended to do this faith journey alone. We will come together and pack meals, worship, vote on council's recommendation to share from our congregational gifts, and close it all out with a tailgate outdoors. Turns out generosity also can't be lived alone.
Good and gracious God, You have blessed us with many gifts and with many challenges that give us a chance to use those gifts. We are most grateful for the companions You send us for the journey. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
Why do we do a 'rally day'? In many protestant (Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational, etc.) churches, Rally Day was a way to celebrate everyone being back together after the different pace of summer. Here at GLC it also marks the end of a budget year and the beginning of a new one. Over the years it has gone from being just 'fun' to being fun with a purpose...serving together, growing in faith and building relationships. This year we have the added efforts to reach out to our community through the Mission Impact teams. We do it all because of what God did for us when He sent Jesus! Sounds like practicing a generous life in Christ.

If you plan on having your child participate in Sunday School this programming season we'd like to ask you to register your child (you only have to register once!). This way, we can plan for volunteers and supplies accordingly. Thank you!

'As you excel in all things...excel also in generosity'
2 Corinthians 8:6

The Geneva Lutheran Congregational Council recommends that the congregation vote to distribute $75,000 from the operating budget to several organizations in the area. We've compiled a FAQ's page that provides specific information about this distribution to help inform your voting decision. #generouslifeinChrist
