Dear friends and fellow disciples,
 
I am really excited for Sunday! Many of our leaders have been planning for the day, a time of fun and celebration to kick off our new program year. In addition to coming early and parking carefully, there are many details below that are important to note. 

Taking the time to teach the Bible and explore faith are absolutely essential to the life of discipleship. Even if you haven't gone to a Church School class before or brought your child or youth to one, I want to challenge you to fold this into the ways you are seeking to follow Jesus.
Sunday, September 8 ~ Rally Day Schedule

8:30am & 11:00am - Worship
It's Communion Sunday

9:45am - Open House and Meet-the-Teachers for Children and Youth
Snacks and fun! (Mission Center classrooms)

10:15am - Presentation of Adults' Fall Christian Education Programs (Parlor)

12:00 Noon - Fellowship Luncheon
Food provided by Fellowship Committee ~ Bring lawn chairs!

5:30pm - WPC Youth Group Kick-Off 
Potluck dinner, games for youth, and parent meeting

Want to learn more about God and following Jesus? Come to Rally Day this Sunday, September 8. Great learning and fellowship opportunities abound for ALL ages!

With the new Fellowship Hall project underway, we are changing things up a bit this year and excited about the day we have planned. This is also the Sunday we return to our schedule of two worship services - at 8:30am and 11:00am .
 
At 9:45am, children and youth and their families are invited to an Open House and Meet-the-Teacher morning in their classrooms. At 10:15am, adults are invited to gather in the parlor for a presentation on our fall adult Christian Education programs. If you’ve never been part of a Church School class or short-term elective, we encourage you to come and hear about these wonderful offerings and meet the people who will be facilitating them.
 
After our 11:00am worship service, we'll gather for a Fellowship Luncheon on the Calhoon Cabin and preschool grounds with food provided by the Fellowship Committee. Take some time to connect with old friends, and make some new ones! Please bring lawn chairs.
 
At 5:30pm, WPC Youth will celebrate a new year with a Kick-Off Party and potluck dinner. Youth will enjoy games on campus, while the adults meet in the Sanctuary to review the 2019-2020 youth calendar and hear the details about trip registrations.

Start the new season off well ~ Make plans to be a part of this special day!
Congregational Meeting on Sunday, September 15
There will be a congregational meeting on Sunday, September 15  for the purpose of voting on the candidate for Associate Pastor for Youth & Their Families, pending approval by the Presbytery of New Hope’s Exams Sub-Commission on September 10.
Times of transition can be strenuous, but they also present us with opportunities to grow. Please prioritize being at church on Sunday morning, making a new friend, and reaching out to families who may be visiting. Christ calls us into community to listen, learn, and serve. It is an absolute gift to be a partner with you in this work.
