YDANIS RODRIGUEZ

NYC COUNCIL, DISTRICT 10

Dear Friends!

My colleagues and I are making definitive process on passing Introduction 410: The Immigrants Voting Rights Bill, now with 34 council members signed on, but we still need your support!

Prior to a hearing on the bill on Thursday May, 9th at 1:00 PM, we will be rallying to call for the passage of this important piece of legislation with immigrants, advocates and elected officials on the steps of City Hall at 12:00 PM.

There are currently 1.3 million voting-age New Yorkers who are unrepresented by any government, yet contribute billions in tax revenue and economic output. With the passage of this bill, over 850,000 of them will have the right to vote in NYC municipal elections and give members of our community a voice in who represents them and how their money is spent.

Council Member Daniel Dromm and I, the lead co-sponsors of the bill, are also happy to have the support at the state level with Senator Adriano Espaillat and Assembly Member Gabriela Rosa.

I invite you all to join us in this effort and help end Taxation Without Representation in New York City!

Sincerely,

Ydanis Rodriguez

Council Member, District 10
