CALENDAR CHANGE
We will have an asynchronous learning day of school on Friday, March 19th. This means that teachers will send home work on Thursday for students to work on at home on Friday. Please note that your child will still need to check in online for school on the 19th as it is counted as a regular day of school. (Teachers will send out instructions when the day gets closer for how this should be done.)

The reason for this shift is that the Watertown Health Department has set up a COVID vaccine clinic date specific to educators and school staff in the Watertown area on the 19th.
Report Cards

The end of the 3rd quarter is drawing to a close on Mar. 29th, right before spring break. Please watch for report cards to come home on Friday, April 12th.

 Welcome to God’s family, boys!!.
Parents corner!
Many children today are struggling with their identity.  Our children are bombarded with messages about what their identity should be. Art of Parenting author Barbara Rainey said, “Our identity is under attack.  It started when  Satan came to Eve and suggested that maybe she shouldn’t be satisfied with the way she was created.” As parents, we need to fight back against Satan and help our children embrace who God created them to be.  Here are a few tips.

  1. By showing your children unconditional love and acceptance. You help them embrace their God-given identity.
  2. Expect your children to have different interests and different personalities.
  3. Every person’s identity is rooted in his or her relationship with God.

“For you formed my inward parts; you  knitted me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14

Safe Families for Children Wisconsin

Good Shepherd in partnership with Safe Families for Children is opening a chapter here in Watertown. This organization works to keep families together and children safe during times of crisis. The goal is to provide a safe place for children, keeping them out of the foster care system and reuniting the family back together after the crisis. There are many ways to be involved.

  • Host Families are screened and approved by SFFC to host children for short periods of time (average length is 6 weeks, can range from 2 days to 1 year).
  • Family Friends provide friendship and support to parents or host families through getting together, encouragement, transportation, hot meals, babysitting, etc.
  • Resource Friends give tangible items to families such as groceries or cleaning goods as needed.
  • Family Coaches walk alongside parents to help them reach their goals and support volunteers while in service.

We will have an informational meeting on March 18 at 6:30pm in the church. This will not commit you to anything only give you more information to make a prayerful decision.
Please contact Johanna Graham (jgraham@goodshepherdwi.org ), Jennifer DeNoyer (jenniferdenoyer@hotmail.com), or Amy Gromowski (agromowski@goodshepherdwi.org) for more information. We can’t wait to hear from you!
