Dear Friends of the Good Shepherd,
Serving at Good Shepherd over the past 18 years has been a great privilege. You entrusted me with your most precious gifts-your children. I was at the Voter's Meeting when it was decided that Good Shepherd would move forward with a commitment to a Christian Day School. That was a "leap of faith" that has taken a great deal of time, energy and resources on the part of this congregation. It has also been deeply enriching.
The teamwork and commitment that this adventure has taken is incredible. Countless hours, days, weeks, months and years of energy have been poured into this place in order to strengthen children and their families in biblical truth through Christian Education. The commitment that this congregation has made in partnership with boards, pastors, principals, teachers, staff, parents and volunteers has been an awesome example of how the body of Christ functions beautifully together. While the past 18 years have not been without growing pains, God has and continues to provide for all of the needs of body and soul. The teachers and staff in this Christian community have consistently and diligently worked to share the love of our Savior throughout each day. The work of the Holy Spirit is evidenced in this place. Good Shepherd Lutheran School is a powerful tool that has impacted many lives in the Watertown community.
It has been my joy to watch children and their families grow from preschool through 8th grade and beyond. Days spent with students, staff and volunteers at Good Shepherd has and will continue to provide me with a rich store of memories. As Mike and I transition to the mission field, I look forward to working with teachers, children and families in Uganda. The Lutheran Church Uganda (LCU) is on the grow! It is filled with children! Please pray for the growth of Lutheran education in Uganda.
Thank you for the love and support you have shown to me and my family throughout our years at Good Shepherd. The Schempf family has been blessed to call this congregation home!
Good Shepherd is a great place to grow up in the Lord!
Serving the Savior, Karen Schempf
