The Two Joys

For the fasting person there are two happinesses, as the Prophet ﷺ said in a hadith, “farhataan,” that two times in his life he was happy: when he broke fast, and he made it equal to the one who is meeting his Lord on the Day of Resurrection; and “farhat,” when he is meeting and speaking with His Lord and Allah ﷻ says to him, "O My Servant! You fasted for Me and, therefore, go to Paradise with no account." So Prophet ﷺ ordered us to make the iftar quickly (break fast) as that pleasure is waiting for us. Many people think the reason for quickly breaking the fast is the happiness of it, but we have to think more carefully.

The Purpose of Holy Ramadan

It is Holy Ramadan. Holy, trying to make people holy. Why has it been said "Holy Ramadan?" Because making people to approach holy levels of Heavens! When you make eating and drinking the lowest level, your spirituality gets up, higher, higher, higher. If someone may reach on that level, he may hear glorifying of angels for the Lord of Heavens! Such things are not written in your books, but the Lord of Heavens is asking to make it clear for understanding, and you must understand! Eat as it is necessary, and don't drink more than you are in need. Therefore, Holy Ramadan is granting to servants a "holiness." People are going to be in the Ramadan more holy ones. Try to be that! In daytime you are so light, so in pleasure, that your physical being is going to be in rest. And your understanding, your mentality is coming to be much more mukammal, perfect. We are saying a holy word of the Seal of Prophets (s).

RAMADAN IFTAR ON WHEELS

مَنْ فَطَّرَ صَائِمًا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said:

“Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”

Sufilive Charities, working with Istanbul-based aid groups Hakkani Kuran Kursu, and Ihlamur Cicegi has set up a mobile food trailer which is currently deliver 1,000+ hot iftar meals daily to earthquakes victims in Kahramanmaras.
