Last Week of Scarecrows!

I can't believe how fast October has flown by! The Scarecrows will be in Cambria for 1 more week...but the Cambria Scarecrow Fest Beanie and Yarn will stick around.

We've had a lot of sun in Cambria, but the temperatures have started to drop this week. It's time to start putting sleeves on my sweaters! I cast on the Ovis Sweater using the new Rambouillet yarn this morning. I'm loving it so far!

Good thing I finished my new Bracken vest this week! From the moment I saw this vest in the Tin Can Knits newsletter, I could not stop thinking about it. I used the Natural colored Ideal yarn from Manos and I picked a classic brown leather knot button.

And if you're looking for a festive fun Knit-Along, the annual Arne & Carlos Free Mystery Stocking KAL kicks off on October 27th.

Bracken is my new favorite vest!

My Rambouillet Yarn is Finally Here!

I am so exited that the new Rambouillet yarn from Juniper Moon Farm arrived in the shop this week! From the moment I first touched this yarn, I knew I needed to stitch with it!

Rambouillet is a luxurious American made yarn that is soft, warm and a delight to wear next to the skin. Its long fibers will give your projects stitch definition and durability. Each skein tells a story: the fiber’s resilience reflects a connection to the land; its softness and loft reflect careful breeding and respect for animal welfare.

I already have the new Ovis Sweater on my needles!

New Knitting the U.S.A. Beanie Kits!

I'm completely addicted to knitting Nancy Bates Beanies!

This past week, I knit the California and the New Mexico beanies from the new Knitting the U.S.A. book. And kits are already available! I really enjoy finding the yarns in the shop to make these beautiful hats. Next up are kits for Arizona, Maine, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington!

Nancy Bates will be in the shop on Sunday November 2nd from 12 - 3PM for a book signing and meet & greet event! There will be ready-to-go kits for many of her beanie patterns from her 3 books! You can also call or email in advance if there's a specific kit you're looking for.

Harmonious Socks...Yarn + Pattern

Harmonious socks from Laines du Nord is one of the newest sock yarns in the shop...and it's been flying out the door! The yarn features bold shades that blend together harmoniously, giving socks a spirited and unmistakable style. Each 100 gram ball contains enough yarn to make a pair of matching socks...just look for the un-dyed section of yarn to figure out where to split your ball.

It's also a fabulous choice for shawl patterns that call for a fingering weight yarn. I plan to knit my next Butterfly Shawl with Harmonious Socks!
